Priority Boarding Line Etiquitte

I have been mostly flying from PER recently and have noticed that PB seems to be working quite well there. It does take time to educate fliers though and there will always be those people who push in. There isn't really much you can do IMHO. The real problem in PER however, well domestic anyway, is not the PB queue it's the two queues to get through the security Business, Plat, Gold ............ and other. They both stretch for it seems miles anyway. I was there at 5.15 am yesterday morning for a 6.10 flight to Melb and by the time I got through it was boarding time!

I wonder if a "2 line" scenario would work on the aero bridge?

Partition off half with the tape, like that of the one that separates the 2 lines for PB.

Seriously - the jetbridge is not the issue.

It's not an issue for other airlines - QF needs to simply copy.

I think the aerobridge congestion is due to people trying to a) locate space in the overhead lockers for their multiple items they don't want to put under the seat in front of them & b) putting the items in said lockers once a free one has been located.

One time I was on SouthWest & one of the FAs was amazing. She was ruthless, & could create space like no-one I've seen since. Smilingly challenged folk who would shove both bags plus goats into the overhead, made sure everyone used some of their foot space. Educated while she sorted it all out. If the bags were big she somehow suggested they didn't need both the kitchen and the bathroom sink.

And she got everyone packed and seated faster than anyone else. Maybe 8 years ago, but I still remember her ruthless smile.

I was on a flight a week and a bit ago and a pax cut in front of me and was the denied boarding and was told to go back and line up because she was a nothing status customer and then when the FA then said to me yes no worries MR Simo you can go through she then questioned the FA why I could go straight on to the flight.

They where dressed up and I was looking pretty scruffy as I was app 12 hours into 24 hours of flying.

Excellent!!

Precisely how it should work :)

If you need a medical goat for comfort you have a whole host of other problems that we don't need to talk about...

In yesterday's newspaper (where I'm living in the States):

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

9:41 p.m., Jamestown — A dog on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road got into a man’s psychiatric medications and was acting drowsy and foaming at the mouth. The caller was transferred to poison control.

Generally "Comfort Animals" are indeed a sign of "other problems that we don't need to talk about..." ...

But if it was a goat, would her name be Sylvia???

(Barry Otto. Robyn Nevin. Night before flying to LHR. Weirdest play I've seen & remember the name of in the past decade)

Enjoyed reading this thread, I agree that PB should be policed at the line so no disagreements should happen in the aerobridge.
Saying that I would not barge down the line, I would wait patiently and then give feedback to the staff later.
When I travel J and am paying $6000+ for a J ticket Vs $1000 for a Y ticket, I want every bit of benefit out of it.

hahaha.. yeah
in cases like yours that makes perfect sense, I was thinking more along the lines of people that have them on a bag that would very easily fit under the seat
I too have the tag on my 115cm rollaboard as it does get checked occasionally (and like others, I want everyone to know I have silver status).

The one I don't get is having it attached to a laptop bag. In what crazy planet are you ever checking your laptop?

I find these people to have the poorest boarding lane etiquette.

Even worse.

The original comment said 'goats' (plural):!: :D

LOL.. Just catching up with all the comments!
Yes, I always travel with at least one goat, and let me be the first to tell you that they bring great comfort, medical or otherwise ;).

The biggest problem is what to do when I have a couple. At my feet, on my lap, in the overhead, or hanging. Have forgotten a couple hanging / or the locker. Quite comfortable with one on my lap in winter. And I usually sleep best cuddled up with one in J. Even F. They do take up a bit of room, but I can work around that.

One time I was heading to the US & when I got to the Flounge realized I had forgotten it in the overhead. Somehow the Flounge Angels managed to get it off the Dom plane before it departed, across to SYD T1, through security, & waiting quietly for me at the Flounge desk when I emerged from the Spa. The relay took several phone calls & my goat passed through at least 6 hands!

As I mentioned elsewhere I did once sit with a man holding a turtle on a leash.
