I am noting a significant discrepancy in some flights between Qantas booking site and Emirates booking site, even though though the same flights. But the Emirates flights are Exx_ flights so I assume cannot get QFF points if booking via Emirates site.

Have attached two images as example. In this case, the price discrepancy was solely on the Athens to Melbourne flight.

Is this pretty normal and unlikely to change? I would like to get QFF points, but not if $700 difference.

Yes, it's been talked about here in another thread. In some cases, several thousands of dollars different!

As to whether it's likely to change, some people seem to suggest it's a temporary thing but I think it's entirely consistent with QF's usual codeshare pricing practice.

I certainly hope it changes because I'm very unlikely to step onto EK metal unless it does change.

I suspect it will change, but the prices are in line with what has been normal Qantas pricing. Once QF and EK have concluded their pricing discussion, I would think that the prices will move toward each other (not saying which will move though!)

Hi all

Just an update.

The Qantas booking site is jumping all over the place at the moment.

Literally 30 mins after I posted the original post, the pricing changed so that the Qantas price was actually CHEAPER than the Emirates. Now at $2,470 for exact same flights.

BUT, another date option I was checking now has the flights for $1K MORE than the Emirates flights...yesterday it was the same price for this other date. And in this case its the Melb to Prague flight that has the discrepancy.

Perhaps just codesharing teething issues.

EK putting their prices up immediately after receiving partnership approval would be foolish!

I have had the opposite experience, when booking on the QF codeshare was 20% cheaper.

I'm sure over time they will become more consistent.

I have another question if you don't mind.

With the above examples, some flights have the Exx_ code and others the Q code.

If I were to book the flight with Qantas through the Qantas site, will I get FF points for all the flights or just the Q code flights.

If not, there is NOW (yes the booking site changed again) another "flight" (for the Melb to Prague leg) that costs $1 extra but it's exactly the same flights, just all legs have a Q code.

Just checked the Athens to Melbourne leg, there is an alternative that uses the same flights but with Q codes, but its over a $1K more.
