I have booked tickets with Qantas in Premium Economy to Tokyo and return for travel later in the year.
Just wondering if any forum members have had experience of the PE cabin on the B747-400RRs that are used on this route?
I currently have selected 35A outbound and 35K inbound.
The "best" rows look to be 29 & 30, but these are blocked-out on my flights.
The biggest drawback with the PE cabin on these aircraft for overnight flights would seem to me to be the proximity to the large galleys.
Seat 31A looks good - it appears to be behind a mini-bulkhead? - but light & noise spill from the galleys could be a problem.

Welcome to AFF, until the earthquake/tsunami the equipment used was often the converted three class from two class, Qantas source gives a good explanation of the seating for these but dont forget aircraft can change at any time and at present there are various 747s and A330s operating QF21:

The QANTAS Source - QANTAS 3 Class Boeing 747-400 Seat Map.

I sat in 31A last time I flew to Tokyo and this was great, Galley was no issue at all. I got upgraded to 1a on the way home but funnily enough, I did not sleep as well as I did in 31A

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
I've changed my seat selection to 31A for both the outbound and inbound sectors.
My flights aren't until December, but I'll post my observations here on my return.
