Is there any published guide as to which routes/flights may allocate seats to the class below, or is it too random tp predict.

I thought that route was just J in F/J seats. Is it Y+ in J seats also????

Not 100% sure whether Y+ gets 'upgraded' also on that route (I think the last 2 rows of J were allocated to Y+), but it has been a 3 class service on a 4 class bird for a while now.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

I was booked into PE on QF29 in FEB but had a Skybed allocated. I was considering cancelling my upgrade request. However, about 2 weeks before the flight, the cabins were redefined and I was put back into a PE seat.

My upgrade came though and I ended up sitting next to the seat I had originally pre-allocated.

I can confirm we are booked on QF29 in late may and the booked Y+ is in Y+ seats (2-4-2), J is J or F seats (zone AB and upper deck).

As others have noted, all may change at the last minute (including us hopefully if the UG request comes through!)

Wonder what the odds are of there being any remaining unallocated seats in Zone A if the upgrqade comes through?

So... I'm now undecided as to whether I should put in my upgrade request or not? :-|

You can withdraw your upgrade request up until ~24 hours before the flight (or it is granted).

Keep an eye on the seat map until then.

Have put in upgrade request as an insurance... but knowing my luck I won't be surprised if the request is granted and J turns out to be empty anyway (I remember one PER-SIN flight I was trying to book which had J availability all emptied out but onboard it was only half full )...
