Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Singapore Airlines to open up 32,000 seats by this afternoon for sale!

I note they are still waiting for the unvaccinated issue clarification “This paves the way for many Australians to return home, but more detail is needed on how to facilitate unvaccinated passengers within the revised international arrival caps that will come into effect from 1 November 2021,” he said.
🎉🎉🎉now that is good news as my fave airline is coming home (excuse me)…Italy May luxuriating on Lake Como getting closer… I must pay very close attention now when booking!
PS how great is it that this thread is getting greater number of posts now than the Reports of Virus Spread? I cannot wait until the day that thread is no longer relevant and destroyed

This thread can close too. We know the answer - 01 Nov 21.

Not good for those of us who live abroad and ineligible for Medicare. As per usual they have forgotten about expat Aussies. Lots of chatter on the expat forums about this.
As a citizen can you get the Health ID or something like that that will allow vax inclusions?

Thinking exactly the same. Even positives of over 2000 barely rate a comment now. Destroyed? No. Its a part of sad history now.

I’d imagine that the players will land in SYD and spend time to get over their jet lag. Maybe 14 days give or take exploring Bondi and perhaps Byron whilst QLD health works on granting them an exemption in their super special process to enter there without quarantine.

I may be a tad cynical 🧐

Agree with Dr Ron. We will be open for Xmas. Tide is turning up here we now know we look like the slow state (in all negative meanings) and getting a bit sick of arch enemy NSW and our fashionable VIC counterparts laughing at us!

Excellent - then onto trip reports … being from Melbourne I need a little more time after 1/11/21

Like some premiers

Tempted to transfer the points to Krisflyer with the SQ announcement but it would probably be sold out by then hehe

I wouldn't transfer points for a chance to redeem SQ points in November, the demand should be high enough that they can sell every seat on the plane without allowing points redemption.

It’s a part of life not history :) - Honestly no one cares anymore we have all FINALLY clicked that the vaccines are incredibly effective, the only people getting acutely sick are those who didn’t get vaccinated plus a few who would have got acutely sick from anything anyway do to frailty. That’s how life rolls.

People are sick and tired of hearing of the impending doom (which is a lie if you have good vaccination rates which we do/getting close to) even up here in QLD and just want a closer version of our old lives to return. Now.

I think early next year would be best bet when things really start ramping up

Historians might just disagree with you there of your definition of history. 😉.

Anyway Im wondering how SA is going to react to all this. It's the CHO's worst nightmare scenario and got Marshall in a real squeeze.

So SA is opening to NSW by Christmas, but will keep home quarantine for ADL international arrivals.

Who's going to be silly enough to fly via ADL?

My expectation is that there will be a question on the form to enter SA, 'have you returned from overseas in last 14 days' and that will invoke the Quarantine if flying in from Sydney. Because keeping SA people 'safe' even once vaccinated 🤮 is their priority.
