Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I believe the Pfizer vaccine is being delivered at the rate of 1 million doses per month so at some stage well before the 5 million mark is passed there will be both vaccines available.
I just hope they don’t stuff up the roll out by for example administering too many on the first dose without having in hand (on shore and in storage) the second same dose.

AT least one. Probably mid-year before we get a solid indication of what effect mass vaccinations are having.
My layman opinion is at least 6 months to see how our dominant vaccine (Oxford) fairs in countries with higher numbers of covid cases - how it impacts on spread, severity, etc

Just get it out there, into arms. No holding back.

.. No half dose, no coughtail dosages, no delayed dose.
Of course.

Edit: My point about getting it out there, into people’s arms, was that leaving bottles “on the shelf” (second doses) seems a waste, when we should be using it as part of the initial roll-out

Big Pharma as a whole, and individually is not known for its high ethical standards. More for its large political donations.

For example it was the 2nd largest donor to one recent president's campaign who coincidentally made it a criminal offense to reveal what price was paid for any item used by any type of medical business/operation. Even the cost of a pen. It was the third piece of legislation he put through.

This is a good summary of the top fines imposed:

I'd prefer the Oxford A-Z as I also do not trust Pfizer one little bit.

With regards to the Qld vaccine causing false HIV positive tests, that might be an issue if one was seeking life insurance down the track. Probably not applicable to those of us older, but for many younger ones it could cause significant issues as insurance companies are not known to apply logic to a situation.
There is quite a good (honest) site that tries to list all violations/fines.

Pfizer for example is shown by it as having total fines imposed since 2000 are around USD 4.7 billion including USD 3,400 million for making false claims.

Astra Zeneca also has an extensive track record for breaking the law/misleading/deceiving about its products. Total fines imposed since 2000 are around USD 1.1 billion including USD 500 million for making false claims.

Pretty much every Big Pharma company has been caught & eventually fined between hundreds of millions to billions just in the period since 2000. For some reason no senior executive (that I've seen) has ever gone to jail though.

The way certain state governments are posturing, I fear that the vaccine will not make a big difference to state border closures, and this will indirectly and directly affect international border openings. I have already resigned myself to no OS travel in 2021 but I'm starting to fear 2022 as well. Call me a pessimist :(

Perhaps an optimist in waiting.

I can't find anything on this... I've looked through all Presidential Executive Orders and law/legislation.

I'm not too worried about that! No one is talking about 'elimination' or '100% prevention' with the vaccines. We are talking about reduction in severity. That's the key, which Prof Collignon seems to be ignoring (or was misquoted, which is also possible).

On 16 August 2020 Prof Collignon said:

Australia will not have a coronavirus vaccine for at least a year and producing one before then could do 'more harm than good', a top disease expert has warned.

Don't Pfizer make cough? Surely a company that can make a product that can raise the dead can also make one that protects the living :p  ?
They must be doing something right. Certainly able to raise their heads when required.

This article seems to provide further input on the Pfizer vs AstraZenica Issue:

I wonder why the Australasian Virology Society suddenly changed its mind? Couldn't have been pressure from the Federal Govt, could it?
