We're excited to bring you flybuys Toolbar – a search engine powered by Yahoo!7 - that rewards you with 1 point per 2 searches you make, up to 100 per calendar month. It's an easy way to boost your points balance!

flybuys Toolbar is FREE, quick and simple to download and sits at the top of your webpage. Once it's installed, it's there for you to use every time you go online.

Why wait – start being rewarded for searching the web now!

I don't think so....100 measly points so they know everything about me? Sure

From flybuys FAQs: "Individual search data is not passed on to flybuys. Search data is not stored by flybuys and your personal details will not be passed on to any third parties"

Here's your challenge: "A valid search is where you do a unique search at least 3 seconds apart or you click through on at least 1 of 10 search results. The Toolbar won't reward repetitive searches that are seen to be fraudulent."

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

someone or SomeCloudThing gets access to very large amounts of data for pretty much nothing.
100 flybuys points might be worth a dollar at a stretch.

each to their own

I admit that I have installed this onto my computer - it does not earn that many points but it counts. After I type in a search if approved I get my points. So far for the month I have earnt 28 flybuys points from 56 searches. It's just about the points ratio I would earn from going to the petrol station like I do every week to fill up my car.

would love you to follow up on this....like to know if you get any "spooky" offers that they could only have dreamt up knowing your browsing history

I received a targetted offer for this toolbar this week...
Earn up to 450 BONUS POINTS on your online searches this month with the flybuys Toolbar.

The flybuys Toolbar is FREE, quick and easy to download and once installed, remains in your browser, so you can be rewarded for your searches. And right now, until 30 June 2013, you'll earn:

• 250 BONUS POINTS just for installing
• Up to 200 points, that’s 1 point for every search.

I got that offer sometime in the last few weeks. They must be really desperate to get people to sign up. I'm wondering if people who signed up without the offer of bonus points are annoyed.

There isn't much I won't do to build up my various rewards card balances but I think the Flybuys toolbar may be the limit of even what I would consider.

Not so much from a privacy perspective (but still a consideration), but moreso from a clunky, inefficient browser plug-in perspective.

Google had put this one in notifications and I didn't see it. I've installed it tonight for the basic points.

While I'm not an expert and I know that the "sophisticated algorithms" must always be carefully analysing my search patterns after I installed the toolbar I was able to use Excel to "concatenate" a heap of random search terms and then clicked on them 3 seconds apart waiting for the page to give me the "Search Valid" popup.

URL Link + random word A + random word b + random word c
URL Link + random word d + random word e + random word f
URL Link + random word b + random word c + random word a

The resulting URLs looked something like :

http://au.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=spf&ft2=&hspart=freecause&hsimp=yhs-coles_121&p=word cat orange

The exact URL might be different in another browser. Just find a way of easily changing the search word at the end.

Thanks for the points. I've uninstalled the toolbar now.

I have used the toolbar now for a few months - no spyware at all :) - got a few points out of it was well. So far for the month I am on 32 points from 64 searches.
