Most economy classes - except YBH on FJ, TL; YBM on PX - will earn 0.25 (discount economy) or 0.5 (economy) instead of 1 on flights from September 1.

QF Codes on this metal unaffected.

BD

MORE Enhancements What will be devalued next? Not sure there are too many other things left in the pantry to be devalued.

Not surprising as they have done the same with EK and LA flights too, ... ie, low rate earns on miles.
But if you book the partner flights with a QF code (sometimes more $$$), then you keep getting the higher miles.
Cunning.
Simpler and Fairer, Jul 14 started the downfall.

Seriously, is anyone at all surprised?

Qantas, you're with us or you're against us. It's simple as that.

Against.
I take it personally, when QF does not due to commercial reasons, ie, not making enough $$$ by flying QF81 and QF82 ADL - SIN vv or even SIN - PER on the wide body plane.
They are giving all their profits to SQ who still fly ADL - SIN and back, plus several times a day PER - SIN and back.
VA and SQ alliance are a solution, but as an QF SG, I would like to keep flying QFi if possible.

I think it can be said that Perth AFF members universally fly QF wide body aircraft out of Perth as often as they can in preference to other airlines.

Happy wandering

Not at all. Qantas presentations given to investors show that the "Loyalty" division is more about data analytics and selling points to 3rd parties than regular airline customer loyalty.

Qantas Frequent Flyer - the FlyBuys of the airline world.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Quite. I was only thinking about this last night. Perhaps the time has come for AFF to reflect the real world: there should be a forum for Qantas Loyalty which is totally outside of the QFF Forum.

The QL Forum can deal with topics such as movie ticket competitions and the devaluation (across ALL credit cards) of direct-earn cards etc etc. QFF could then concentrate on issues such as PB, schedule changes etc.

The more I think of points and SC devaluation on partner airlines, the more I think that all that's happening is QL realigning the value of those points with the various giveaways from other types of partners.

The pretence that QL is anything other than a marketing and revenue pool should be broken.

Red Roo might resist that. The QF Loyalty edifice is predicated on the belief that your points are still as valuable as they used to be i.e. for free or almost free flights.

Meanwhile a friend picked up about 200k points by signing up to (then cancelling) several "bonus points and no annual fee for first year" credit cards

200,000 points from credit card sign-on bonuses is the equivalent of roughly 200 Sydney-Nadi return flights on Fiji Airways in Discount Economy after the 1st of September!
