Hi, I understand that with PCP you get SC’s for a classic reward flight. What about if you use points to upgrade a paid flight to Business. Anyone know? TIA, as always.

You earn SC for the original booking class.

I experienced that early this year going from X to U, earning economy award SC's.
Yep. Always better to book the better seat upfront if you can but not always possible of course 😏.

It works the same way for paid fare. You only get SCs for the class paid for not an upgrade if it comes through.

Thanks everyone. In that case, can anyone advise how to cancel an upgrade request? Or should I start a new thread?

There should be a "Cancel" option.

@SYD , of course, there should be. But I can’t see it (am on an ipad). I’m inclined to say i searched thoroughly before asking, but when one says that someone is bound to show you the simple way and then you feel like a moron. But I did look, under ‘manage’ etc. Nothing immediately obvious.

But I can’t see it
Generally, if you bring up your bookings, find the booking in question and select "request upgrade".

When the booking comes up you should see the option to cancel an upgrade request for a segment if one has already been requested.

Sorry, I had assumed you’d retraced your steps to “Request upgrade”!

Another way is clicking on the link in the email confirming the request. From memory that would take you to the page with update/cancel etc.

Somewhat aligned. If you've already made an award booking and then later reach the Points Club do they apply the status credits?

Yes, I believe so. SCs award on activity date not booking date.

We travelled on an upgrade Syd Mel last Sunday. Only Y SCs allocated. I will monitor for credits on upgrade.
