Points and SC calculated incorrectly on recent VA flights

I flew SYD-BNE and BNE-SYD over the weekend on VA. Both on Choice fares costing $186.22 and $187.01 respectively. I should have recieved 16SC and 1629 points for the first flight, and 16SC and 1636 points for the second flight (using 8.75ppd as a Velocity credit card holder and SG). Instead I received 14SC for each flight and 1482 and 1488 points respectively..

Interestingly, the SC and points recieved is exactly the amount that would be awarded on the cost of my flights exclusive of GST. Also, the SC and points took 3 days to credit, which is longer than usual (usually 1-2 days max). So my best guess is that sometime in the past few weeks, VA’s SC and points calculator had broken and they are running the calculations on the “price exclusive of GST” column of the spreadsheet.

My wife and I flew SYD-CBR on Choice 2 weeks ago for $226.01. Her points and SCs pool to me. I noticed that she got 19 SCs while I got 17 SCs. Definitely strange however it does fit with your theory on the price exclusive of GST for my fare though. I haven't queried it with them yet as I have a bigger issue of missing SCs I'm owed for a DOH-SYD trip 4 weeks ago that still haven't been credited and I want to get that can be sorted out first.
