Does anyone know if the 1 x free annual flight included with Platinum Edge CC includes travel insurance?

Don't mean to be rude, but have you read the policy?

From memory (I haven't read the policy in a while), it does, albeit limited.

I did give the policy a browse and didn't notice it state it specifically, it does state:

"ACTIVATION OF TRAVEL INSURANCE COVERurchase of Trip on American Express Platinum Edge Credit Card or with Membership Rewards points."

Of which it is neither. However it does define a "Trip" as:

Trip means
a) a Domestic Trip or an International Trip that commences with a Common Carrier Conveyance; or
b) a Return Flight Offer for American Express Platinum Edge Credit Cardmembers.

So you may assume you are covered, hence the question.

I read the definition of trip to mean it is covered. It would have been useful to have included that information in your original post.
