Planely - Plainly Painful Practices

I have a question to the hords. I use twit frequently and of course facebook. With facebook I can simply select any app I don't want posting on my wall, however twit is the opposite.

My head imploded last night, international data roaming (yeah I know) and onto twit for a quick check only to be bombarded with Planely messages, literally 100's of them. This morning scrolling backwards through my feed (on Hotel WiFi now) most had gone and I wonder if it was an app glich, however, a simple question, without unfollowing your friends, can you stop the feeds like Planely (and many others) bombarding the twit?

I believe it's a client level feature only on Twitter. Unfortunately that means that the client still has to receive the data and then chooses not to display it.

I'm sure you could block the @planely account in your twit settings though.

I don't follow @planely, the messages seem to be an automated thing coming direct from the followed person

You can still block the @planely account though even if you don't follow them.

I did it for the bl**dy annoying road safety kitten that Qld Police kept retweeting.

FB was used a lot by me in the past.... Now I'm trying to keep it only to my family and people I know relatively well.

I don't tweet that often, however it's easy to stay in touch on the move.

Never gave Planely me cough details so no bomboarding there.

Planely has bigger issues imho
- Apart from tripit integration almost no update since launch

My gripes with it
- Lack of users (obviously)
- All the 'false' matches - wrong airport terminal, arriving when departing etc
- No ability to easily see - On plane matches - on the summary screen should summaries on plane, at depart, at dest
- Keeps historical entries on summary screen - why should I scroll down 30+ flights to see matches on upcoming
