Philippine Airlines Delays/Cancellations

Wednesday 26 October has PR209, the redeye from MNL to MEL arriving at about 0757, 37 minutes tardy. Aircraft is A333 RP-C8760.

On Friday 28 October the often punctual PR209 into MEL is not expected to arrive until 0852, 92 minutes behind schedule, with aircraft A333 RP-C8765. It had not taken off on Thursday night until 2212.

PR214A took off from SYD at 2252 on Saturday 29 October with A333 RP-C8762. This is not a usual working: PR212 appears to have operated today (the late morning flight to MNL).

PR214 was cancelled on 25 October so I am not sure if today's oddly timed flight had something to do with an A333 failing in SYD and requiring repairs.

Most heavily delayed flights tend to have a 'D' suffix but possibly 'A' stands for 'amended'.

PR210, the 0900 MEL - MNL departed at 1019 on Sunday 30 October with A333 RP-C8765. Arrival should be at 1524, 49 minutes late.

So-called 'tag flight' PR221 from DRW to BNE (which had earlier originated in MNL) on Saturday 5 November, the 0505 hours, took off at 0559 and so should arrive at around 1022, 42 minutes late. Aircraft is A320 RP-C8613. This will delay the returning BNE - DRW - MNL PR222.

Due to SYD being affected by strong winds and hence only using runway 25 for westerly departures (little use of the north-south runways) on the morning of Saturday 5 November, PR212, the 1130 hours SYD - MNL (A343 RP-C3439) took off at 1302. Arrival is suggested as 68 minutes behind time at 1758.

Saturday 12 November sees RP-C8760, a relatively high density seating A333, on PR212 (1130 hours SYd - MNL) having taken off at 1207 with suggested arrival 31 minutes late at 1721 this afternoon.

Saturday 19 November has RP-C3435, the 1130 PR212 SYD - MNL having taken off at 1223 with arrival suggested as 1741 late this afternoon, 51 minutes late.

Wednesday 23 November has PR212, the 1130 SYD - MEL (A343 RP-C3441) having not taken off until 1512. Arrival should be at 1951 hours, 181 minutes past the allotted.

PR214, the 0600 hours thrice weekly SYD - MNL is mostly punctual but on Monday 28 November, takeoff was delayed until 0735, so arrival of A333 RP-C8765 will not be until at least 1218, 63 late.

On Friday 16 December, PR212 (1130 SYD up to MNL) took off at 1225. Arrival of A343 RP-C3436 should be 42 minutes late at 1732 late this afternoon local time.

Sunday 18 December sees PR212 (1130 hours SYD - MNL, A343 RP-C8766) having taken off at a late 1256 hours. Arrival is predicted as 70 minutes tardy at 1800.

On Friday 23 December, PR210 from MEL to MNL took off at 1210 despite a timetabled pushback of 1010 hours. Arrival of A333 RP-C8771 should be at 1654, 84 minutes late.

PR212 from SYD to MNL is also delayed with A343 RP-C3439, the 1130 scheduled departure having taken off at 1306 with arrival suggested 70 late at 1800 tonight. QF19 (1225 SYD - MNL, A333 VH-QPG) is hot on its tail only three minutes behind PR212.

The Boxing Day day flight PR213 (1100 MNL - SYD) must have been too late to make the 2300 hours SYD curfew as it did not depart until 2037 for an overnight run down to SYD. RP-C8771 is likely to arrive at 0801 on 27 December instead of 2225 last night. As there was a typhoon affecting part of the largest island Luzon yesterday (called Nock-ten - unusual that a hyphenated name features), this may have been the cause as many other flights into and out of MNL were cancelled.

Expect it to depart as PR214 at about 0930 in lieu of the normal 0600 from SYD back to MNL.

The 26 December PR218 (2315 hours ex MNL to CNS, A320 RP-C8616) took off on Tuesday 27 at 0222 with arrival suggested as 1013 instead of 0740. This flight then proceeds to AKL.

Completing a troika of late flights, PR221, the 2200 hours from MNL to DRW and BNE took off at 0238 on Tuesday - a time when MNL airport is normally closed (0130 to 0330 hours) - and should arrive in the Northern Territory at 0826, 261 minutes later than the scheduled 0405 hours arrival. A321 Rp-C9917 is the aircraft: this flight is usually upgauged from an A320 to an A321 during the Christmas school holidays.

PR214 from SYD to MNL (thrice weekly) is often on time but that is not so on Thursday 29 December 2016, with A343 RP-C3439 having taken off at 0740 hours compared with a departure time of 0600; MNL arrival should be at about 1218, 63 minutes late.

PR211, the overnight from MNL should arrive in SYD at 1018, 48 minutes late on Saturday 31 December. RP-C3438 is the A343.

Wednesday 5 January 2017 sees PR221, the 0505 hours DRW - BNE that earlier originated in MNL having taken off (DRW) at 0630. BNE arrival should be at 1048, 68 minutes late with A321 RP-C9919.

The overnight MNL - SYD, PR211 (A333 RP-C8763) took off at 0009 on Friday 6 despite a timetabled Thursday 5 departure of 2230 hours. On Friday 6, it should arrive at roughly 1051, 81 minutes late, delaying the 1130 hours return SYD - MNL PR212 by at least half an hour.

Due to PR211 being late inbound, the Saturday 7 January 2017 PR212 from SYD to MNL departed at about 1228. RP-C3439 (A343) is the aircraft.

The Tuesday 10 January PR211 (2230 hours MNL - SYD) took off at 2314. On Wednesday 11, A343 RP-C3438 should arrive at 1003, 33 minutes tardy.
