Yes. Looks like 361 days.

Neither will let you enter an initial search date greater than 353 days out but once the results are displayed, you can step forward on the regular search, or get the calendar view on the MC search.

I can only get to 360 days using the regular search (i.e. one week from 353 days). For 361 days, only the multi-city booking engine works.

It's a very good airline provided ex MEL or SYD, one has an A333 with 1-2-1 in J and 2-4-2 in whY. These normally operate on these two routes ex and to MNL but occasionally, a poorly configured A333 with an abysmal business class (2-2-2 and a strange arrangement where one lie flat bed is at a higher level closer to the window than the other IIRC) visits. PR makes every effort not to send the latter to Australia.

The A321s operating to and from BNE and PER normally have lie-flat seats in J in a 2-2 configuration. I have only used one between MNL and BKK: it was fine, despite my general dislike of single aisle aircraft.

Service on board is generally very good to excellent, the food is fine, the airline has a very good safety record and punctuality (unlike 20 years ago) is pretty good, though not perfect.

MNL T1 can be busy, but the longest wait for immigration entering Philippines I've had is about 25 minutes. Often it's quicker. Bags seem to emerge pretty promptly, and customs is a breeze, but you need to show the staff your electronic entry declaration that you can complete 72 hours or less before the timetabled departure of your flight ex Oz. You don't need to complete same when departing Philippines if you are a foreigner.

The transfer experience at MNL T1 is often criticised as odd. As I tend to leave the airport and catch a 'connecting' flight a couple of days later, it isn't a concern to me.

There are hotels near T1: Grand Westside is newish and will have up to 1500 rooms: 10 minutes via the Skyway toll road that adds a whole P45 (A$1.00) to a Grab (equivalent of Uber in Oz) or taxi fare. There are banks just outside arrivals that give quite a good exchange rate.

Plenty more hotels near MNL T3 but traffic between T1 and T3 can slow one down.

One other quick point: while Visa and Mastercard are accepted in many establishments, with smaller stores and taxis Philippines is largely a cash economy. It isn't alone in southeast Asia in being like this. Bring some AUD to change at the airport, although from memory there may be an ATM as well.

And close to T1 (and walking distance from Grand Westside Hotel) is the Okada Manila huge casino with a wide range of restaurants including an A$70 lunch buffet on weekdays (more expensive on weekends).

I'll soon be looking for a J award flight from the US to Oz, and PR is the one coming up the most right now. Longer than a direct flight but so far there is nothing with QF/AA/FJ.

I'd just be transiting in MNL for a few hours, does anyone have any intel on lounge options?
