Do we read between the lines on this expansion that Qantas have given up on international from Perth?

Virgin domestically soon to fly out of this terminal complex

All the art work in the article is emirates, even tail fins

Do we swap our alliances from One World to the dark side?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What I want to know is when EK start flying the A380 there. Another city to fly out of if availability can't be found out of BNE/MEL/SYD using QFF points

I think it's already evident that QF has given up internationally from PER .... no need to read between the lines here :p

Looking at the article attached to the OP, is the new development going to be known as the 'Emirates Perth International Airport'? It is the only brand name shown and is plastered everywhere (even more than what you see at DXB now).

Also, I think the passenger growth numbers have been produced by the same people who do the traffic predictions for toll roads. A doubling of passengers in 10-15 years would appear to be very 'bullish' indeed.

What is sad is our national airline cannot currently operate a single international service from the current facility.

hey,

apologies for bringing up an old topic, but couldn't see any more recent relevant ones, when is the new Domestic Pier at PER due to open, and VA switching across to it, is it still scheduled for this year?

While we are at it - because PER is a subject of interest not just to Sandgropers but many Australian east coast residents - I notice from this that the Perth Airport rail link may open in 2020 yet Perth Airport's consolidation program for its terminals may not be ready until 2022. Is it possible for any Perth-based AFFers to attend an August 2015 community information session (see the website below) to establish what arrangements may be made in any transition period (if rail opens before terminal redevelopment is completed):

You'll find that the Airport West station will service the current domesti terminals. The question is more likely around how they expect people to get from Airport West to the terminal...

I would assume a shuttle bus similar to the cat services, in the CBD/Fremantle/Joondalup
