PER to Cairns

Has anyone taken QF1030 from PER to Cairns? It currently operates on Fri and Sun.

Is it a relatively empty flight?

Which flight would have the better chance of an upgrade? Friday or Sunday?

I haven't done the overnight flight - I usually take the daytime via Ayers Rock, which means you do lose a day travelling though and there is no business class and the flights to the centre can get quite full.

i took the sunday flights september last year and both there and back were about 60% full (we had three seats for two of us). being, you'd assume, a predominantly leisure route your chances of an upgrade would be reasonable due to a relative lack of business travellers, except for the fact it's a 737 so there's not many seats to upgrade to. and the seats that you do upgrade to aren't that much better than a normal economy one anyway...

Took Fri night flight Dec '05 as part of a DONE4; can't tell you much as I had the snack in my 1F seat and slept.
