Well, that was a great night in a great new lounge :). A few pics to give you an idea:

Some of the usual suspects were there including in the last pic - Cove, Adam (from MEL and an FFAer, PJM, The Winchester, Casanovawa, Citrusb.

Others from AFF/FFA included Mannej and V8Statesman.

Funny how some of the boys disappeared from our group when Megan Gale appeared ;).

Excellent food and drinks - and the novel pizza ovens were going flat-out :).

Thanks Red Roo for the lovely evening in Perth tonight. I think there are 360 seats in this lounge so it is big. A special thanks to citrusb for making me his +1 for this evening.

+1 - and apologies to Citrusb for forgetting his handle.

Just a small point but most of those mentioned from Facebook aren't or weren't there as FFA'ers but members of HFC ;)

Wasn't invited :(

What was the invite requirement for this one I wonder?

Must have pulled a few out of a hat. Didn't seem to be a pattern. AFF types were a small minority of the guests. I think the PER social set was there in abundance.

Its another much smaller, separate Facebook group. "High Flyer Community". Completely separate to FFA and run by a different admin team.

I think some of those winners were from AusBT as well.. seems a few tickets were given away!

I hope Princess Fiona did not turn green with envy.
Nice pictures JohnM. The HFC is a closed group that Princess Fiona could get you into seeing I really don't do anything with Facebook other than for travel ideas.

I'm here at the moment - nice and modern and fresh (pretty much as was reported on the news).
It's also quiet just now, and plenty of different seating options/areas.
Lots of friendly staff - and a nice tuna salad makes a welcome break from the popcorn I've got sick of upstairs!
Pizzas look great - although I'm off the simple carbs for now, so can't tell you how they taste!!! Equally, a nice choice of wines (but I'm off that for now too!!!).
Some VIPs are being given a personal tour as I post - wonder who they are!!

Snow.

New QF Business lounge in Perth

I searched but couldn't find any mention. Where exactly is it ? Has anyone been yet and posted a review ? I'll be there in 4 weeks time.

You'll find it easily enough ;). It's on the main level, just beyond the entry to the QP escalator and very well signed.

Re: New QF Business lounge in Perth

Does anyone know the opening times?
The website hasn't been updated (no surprise there) and Red Roo didn't respond to my question up-thread.

Re: New QF Business lounge in Perth

Is it one drink per time? ;)

Cue elitists moaning about high status FIFOs ;)

great
will the downstairs 'qantas club' close now?

Re: New QF Business lounge in Perth

Visited the lounge on Friday 28th. Certainly spacious and modern - wine served was of high quality and the food, seating etc excellent. It is a truly spacious area probably 3 times the size of Brisbane!!. But here is the rub, if there is a criticism to make of the new facility it has to be the number and size of the bathrooms. Even the 737 has a better ratio than that provided for in the lounge: Friday afternoon around take off for all the eastern flights saw a queue in and out the facility. One of the key advantages for most travellers in using the lounge are the bathroom facilities available. Anyhow apart from this an impressive facility but hardly overwhelming.

Re: New QF Business lounge in Perth

Brisbane DOM J lounge is a disgrace, and I'm very happy to hear that it's getting an upgrade, I'd much rather go to the normal lounge at BNE. Surprisingly BNE international J is even worse. I've had bigger offices than the BNE INT J lounge.

To answer my own question, it'll be open all hours, same as the QC.
I have to agree with Bigglesworth that the toilets seem inadequate given the lounge capacity.
