PC Points earnings

Thanks guys...that was what I was hoping to hear....

However, the more I think about it, it'd be easier to just buy the points to qualify for GOLD status...and cheaper. And keep buying points to retain gold or platinum status each year....

But it sure isn't as much fun going to these new places and the travel involved.

Appreciate all the responses to my queries...I am really on a points rush at the moment..Status is everything...!! :D

Cheers all !

Also note that you can buy gold status for US$50. This will not get you any PC points (compared to the $200 spend mentioned earlier) but you will earn 10% bonus points on all stays.

There are details on the Priority Club website.

Yah. I think that the $200 plus 20k points is better value than just gold for $150 plus gets 1/3 of the way to Platinum for those that need a boost

My friend has received a postcard from Intercon last week with an offer. Register online and stay for 3 nights + in IC and get a complimentary Ambassador. He is platinum like myself. I got nothing despite getting my platinum renewed in 2 months. Has anyone heard of this offer?I cannot find it on PC website

It is a targetted promotion, and it is probably the prmotion listed in the thread http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/all-other-loyalty-programs/priority-club-2008-promotions-12137.html as the Ambassador Activation Hurdle.

How do they target I wonder? My wife says I got no mail from them and it is not in my offer tracking. I have in the last 6 weeks chalked up 3 stays in IC Mumbai, 2 weeks in CP New Delhi and am on my second stay in IC Manila. Surprisingly this time they just sent me straight up to exec lounge for check in without me having to ask for a bigger room. My friend just renews his by quarterly stays in CP!

A little bit of topic but advise would be appreaciated.

What wording do you use to ask hotel chains to match status? Unthinkable is happening ( I really think I should get a life!!!). My HH gold is lapsing at the end of April (there are no Hilton properties in a lot of places I travel, and my Conrad BKK stays have dropped to about 8 a year from monthly), and for some reason the rollover chart does not extend to May. I have booked 4 stays in Conrad and Hilton before the middle of May but not sure if they will count. I am hoping they will send me a fasttrack offer like they normally do, but if they do not, how to proceed?

Hi All

I just got my first update for my stay with PC Rewards and I noticed that parking fees are not considered to be qualified spending and my fews days costs were excluded.

Why is that ?

Also, I noticed some promos codes I signed up, I got an email to confirm my registration was successful but its not showing up on my 'MY OFFER' status page. Has anybody come across this ?

Is it possible those promotional codes like 1000 points online booking have since expired ?

Cheers

Parking fees are not eligible charges, and while you may get points for them sometimes and some hotels, there is no obligation on the hotel to give them.

Eligible Charges Worldwide also include food and beverage, telephone, laundry, and in-room movies charged to the member's room.

Bummer. While I understand from the T&C's, I wonder why parking is not a qualified spend ? Its still being charged to the room and its still a service provided by the hotel. Strange....

Hi again
Just noticed that PC rewards has an the following awards promotion :

2,000 Bonus Points Package: receive 2,000 bonus points for any two-consecutive-night stay

This is available at Crowne Plaza Melbourne and the award is for stays between 1st May and 31st August.

My question for those seasonal PC stayers is do any rates published on the PC webpage qualify for the bonus or does it have to be those rates with the package bonus symbol on them that them ? As I noticed that the ones with the package bonus symbol are usually more expensive than the best available rates.

Thanks in advance...

Cheers

Has to be the rates with the symbol, and they are not much of a bonus when compared to non "bonus" rates! The new promo from May 12 is 2K for every second night at all hotels anyway!

Yes, you do have to stay on the rate indicated. Effectively that extra cost is paying for the points (ie really you are just buying the points!)
