hi all,

Hoping someone might have a winning solution for the following

Booked flights bne-sea for 2 pax on VA/DL metal later this month. Flights booked in T class via webjet. Upon initial contact with VA, was advised that I needed K class for J class upgrade from BNE - LAX.

After further contact with Velocity, have managed to get 2 x Z class seats (bne - lax) held for 24 hrs. Contact with Webjet indicate that I cannot cancel just the lax-bne leg and that the whole booking has to be cancelled.

Have looked at cancelling entire flight and just booking lax-sea-bne however at this late stage, price to do so is too high.

Appreciate any suggestions

Think only option at this stage is to keep original booking and keep points for another o/s trip in 12 mths.

You do need a Freedom fare (K class or higher) to upgrade with points on VA long-haul. T class is not a Freedom fare so can't be upgraded.

Your best bet is to cancel the Webjet fares and redeem points for 2x reward seats as new bookings. It's worth it if you've managed to get Z seats released - this might not happen for your next trip!

Mattg,

Thanks for the feedback. This is pretty much how it happen today. Managed to secure the 2 x Z class fares ( not without dramas.. that’s another thread!) and economy reward seats on the return.

Have requested the Webjet cancellation and rebooked the internal US flights.
