Hi Guys,

So around 2.5yrs ago we started a new division of our business.

Here we provide turn key solutions for Parking Guidance Systems (PGS).
In a nut shell the systems that help you find an empty parking spot in various car parks with various signage around the place.

We are looking for more reference sites around Australia so happy to hear if any other members or your friends/family could benefit with similar systems.

We have already completed a handful of projects.
  • Childcare centre in Sydney South
  • Markets in Sydney West
  • Commercial office building in Sydney West
  • Place of worship in Northern Sydney
  • Council car park in Melbourne East
We have systems to cater for undercover/enclosed car parks & open air/paddock style of car parks too.

Our system is a German product so quality/reliability is excellent!

Think the car parks around here are too chaotic and not sure people would follow guidelines!:)
 
I don't think that's the case.
Most large shopping centres have a system.

The system helps you find an empty spot quicker.. Not many guidelines to follow really
 
I hope yours works better than some. (BNE airport for one.) I'm fed up with scooting down to a green light only to find a vehicle in the space. Every now and then, you might put up with such malfunctions. But it when it happens on multiple occasions in the same carpark on the same day, it's worse than having no lights at all.
 
while I agree with you as a fellow consumer.. its not so black & white.

I don't know the exact system at BNE, all products fail from time to time (grant some more than others), or give false positives.
The maintenance is critical for any product/system, if the end user refuses to do this then the system should not get the blame.

Its also hard for the end user, as its not easy to calculate the ROI on such systems, so they usually don't spend much money on it, specially if parking is free.

Car parks that charge (like airports) should be doing regular maintenance.
Some systems are IR based, camera based or ultra-sonic based, all have their own pros/cons and maintenance requirements.

Sorry about that, my car (Mirage) does that to many of these systems. It's small and goes in far enough that the sensor no longer sees it.
 
ours is a European based sensor, where the golf is considered a family car... no such issues!

motorbikes are still missed though unless right in the "hot zone"

Talking a smaller regional area where there are no systems yet

Granted not your issue, and IMO motorbikes should really be parked in a dedicated smaller spot where multiple can fit, but perhaps these systems should include guidelines to car park owners to allow them to paint a smaller motorbike space within a car park space so the bike ends up in the "hot zone"?

give it a few years to filter down to the Tier 2 cities, Bendigo, Newcastle etc

Yeah, they mostly have a dedicated motorbike parking area, which the bikes should stick to ideally
 
currently we are in early talks with a customer where a consumer can book a spot on their website but nothing actually happens on the back end to reserve them a spot!
