Buying Velocity points

The wines are beyond underwhelming
Yeah, I got a mixed case a few weeks ago and there's a couple of the wines that are literally undrinkable.

Pity they don't give the wine away free with points purchase.

Might want to consider using the Choice reward option if time is on your side. You can buy Choice points when they run promotion at about 0.8 cents (about 0.6 USD) per point, and they run occasion promotion to transfer to Qff and VA at 5:4 ratio.

So you are effectively buying points at 1 cents per point.

I made a Velocity points purchase yesterday to take advantage of the current discount offer. Posting here to record my experience on two of the recurrent issues in this thread.

1. No forex surcharge. Used a Ubank debit card. Have paid for a previous Points Booster offer with my Qantas Pay card, also with no surcharge, but that card is now relegated to last resort use.
2. Delay of 22 hrs in processing payment & posting points. Payment seemed to go through successfully and I received a 'purchase receipt' email right away which said: 'You will be notified by email as soon as your purchase completes'. Transaction was still pending in my Ubank a/c early this morning. Finally got the 'purchase confirmation' email and points have now posted. Unclear why it took 22 hrs: previous points purchases have gone through with points added within a couple of minutes.

I was not relishing a call to Velocity to chase up the delayed transaction. Hope this data point may reassure anyone else whose purchase seems to take a long time to be processed.
