So were the seats in the new SQ suites comfortable? not too hard? bumping your knees when swivelling around?

That crispy pork looks sensational! This restaurant is now on the list for a visit when we are in Singapore in December.

We've had superb meals here over many, many years ... you wont be disappointed.

Yes, bed still hard, and no. I'll give a full opinion / summary at the end of the report. I will say - it was the best hard product / cabin I've flown ... by a country mile.

The new suites cabin is located on the upper deck of the A380, and is only 6 seats. The old suites are located downstairs with a cabin of 12 seats.... one can see issues with award availability given the new format has reduced the cabin by 50%. FWIW one of the FA told mrsamaroo SQ wasn't going to run the new suites for the more popular routes (JFK, etc) .... who knows?

Does anyone know what their plans are?

There are two toilets for 6 passengers, and you can notice the difference. I didn't need to wait / queue even at the busy PJ changing times. One toilet is quite large, the other is massive. This one is positioned where QF have their sad J lounge. Really like the foot pedal to operate the rubbish flap - nice touch!

Toilets were kept spotlessly clean .... even the floor. This is another area QF fail IME.

This probably explains why I have never seen new suites to JFK. Re the bathrooms the old suites also have the foot operated lid cover for the used towels. One of the things I really like about SQ is that whenever it looks like I was going towards the bathroom they would tell me that they will check the bathroom before I go in. No unfortunate surprises in there.

Have not heard this suggestion mentioned on any forums.

Aren’t ALL A380s getting the refurb to new suites? Supposed to be done by end of 2020 I thought. If that’s the case then only 2 possibilities:
- JFK DOES get new suites or;
- SQ stops flying the A380 to JFK

As we are currently planning an awards booking there for end of next year I’m hoping it’s the former!

I suspect

What’s the divider between Suites and the cabin behind suites?. Curtain?
I suspect there won’t be a way of sneaking into Suites Loos from other cabins... even for me:p:mad:

For some reason I didn't notice the foot pedal in old suites....

mrsamaroo got the feeling the FA was suggesting the old suites were going to be kept .... he insinuated 6 seats weren't enough on some routes. Doesn't make much sense to me.... but I'm not an SQ flyer.

You can see it in this image. It's a solid wall with a galley behind it ..... not much chance of a stray coming through that from the J cabin. The stairs that lead down to PE is roped off.... pity QF don't use the same method to stop the J walkers coming down for the F dunnies ;)

For watching TV and meals you face the entrance of the suite.... the FA closed the door for privacy. The TV is on a swivel bracket for comfortable viewing...

Dinner..... you can see the feet of the FA through the open suite door

The ergonomics also suit the cabin crew - not having to lean over you during meal service

The tableware looks more interesting than QF so called designer tableware by whats his name

What are those linear ?lights above the next suite's TV?

Can you please describe the cabin lighting changes during the flight.
