In my not-so-humble opinion, the "waffle" paper towels above are just "try-hard wanna-be" towels. The original and best are flat weave, tight-woven-style with distinctive fold profile. "Waffle" are more like paper napkins with a bit more substance. Have had LOTS of experience with the "real (woven) thing" plus "wanna-be" waffle substitutes. A little more interesting is that different towels are available/ not in various locations. Why???
