Obviously some mods don't like my comments, ah well, was no malice directed to the OP. Wow, you get away with more on Whirlpool it seems!

Can anyone confirm if it did depart or not then?

I have nothing against what you wrote, you just have a good knowledge of Melb airport & planes then I have.

I am just disappointed my son and I did not get to depart on our holiday to Christchurch. I also understand the effects of the floods on the Pacific Blue Office in Brisbane. But I am a little irrated at how Pacific Blue Airport staff went about the whole thing. Anyway life still goes on and I am hopeing I can book the same holiday for later in the year.

Someone definetly has their wires crossed because the flightstats site shows DJ60 as departing on time at 9.45 am but somehow it's arrival in CHC was delayed 236 minutes, scheduled arrival was 3.00pm NZ time but it didn't arrive till 6:56PM.
I don't know how accurate flightstats is though.

We did observe about 5 peices of luggage was put back into the hull....I presume these belonged to the cabin crew on board. The plain was towed out and could not see it after that. I also presume the 'work dispute' had to do with the cabin crew? As there were a few men on the ground ready to put the luggage on board the second time round.

Well whatever happened it appears that there was a stuff up somewhere and you didn't get on the plane, the important thing now is to sort out the situation so that you get some resolution.
Good Luck.

QFCSA and others who call OP names when they make a statement they don't like due to your loyalty to an airline etc , this is cyber bullying.

By all means dispute the facts, disagree with the opinions but don't get personal with another user of this forum. And I know what the term you used mean ......

I feel sorry for the original poster - she had her holiday ruined - and that of her sons who obviously faces some challenges in life that the rest of us don't.

I am a Velocity member and fly DJ domestically as my preferred carrier - BUT even I agree that they treated this situation really badly.

Some honesty and truth goes a long way towards creating understanding.

I love being able to read and contribute to a forum where one of my great loves travel and commercial airlines and airliners are discussed. I don't log on to see OP being personally abused.

MODS - thank you for removing the post!!

Other members please think before you type a personal insult.

Thanks for sharing

adampenrith, unless there has been a post that has been deleted, I don't see any cyber bullying.
To me something doesn't add up here. The OP states that flight was cancelled, yet looking around, it seems that the flight did indeed operate, although delayed by 4 hours.
Something has happened here, but I don't think we have the full story here (not necessarily anyone's fault)

The offending post has been edited.

I don't believe that the original poster would be complaining about a flight that was delayed then cancelled with no real explanation, if it did not happen. yes flight stats show that the flight operated - but a checked in pax did not see any pax board it, let alone travel it.

I guess its always possible that someone has posted an untruth on a forum, but until proven otherwise I am going to believe the original poster as having experienced what she wrote about.

Believe me this 9.45am flight was delayed then cancelled at around 2.15pm....Otherwise my experience would not have been posted on this site.
First delay was because of weather coming from Christchurch we were told..then like I have said Airport Security told us it was cancelled due to a 'work dispute.' After this the plane was towed out to the tarmac and from there I have no idea as we were instructed to go back and get cleared thru customs and collect our luggage.

Thanx for getting the stats that no-one boarded it.
When things get back to normal for the PB Office in Bris..I am sure I will be able to rebook this holiday again for later in the year again.

I have edited a couple of posts where content could be read/misread as a personal attack or it quoted said text, please continue to discuss the topic, not question the personal qualities of another member of the community. I also changed the thread title and notified the OP on the day of the first post as it did not really explain the content and in the hope that it will get the attention it needs to resolve the many questions being asked.

BTW how did you find your stats for this Flight? or is it a secret?...lol

Flightstats.com

As pointed out it's weird as it shows it departing on time, but arriving nearly 4 hours late!

I can't do a screen grab but will try a bit later..

You may want to correct the spellng error of the word 'destroys'. ;)

Flightstats

Flightstats may not be able to detect if the flight took off as scheduled without any passengers. Does flightstats rely on information supplied by the airline or airport?

Perhaps there was no 'work dispute' at all and the cabin crew were out of hours, with no replacement cabin crew available, but the aircraft and cabin crew still had to get to CHC. This is what happens when travelling with LCCs.

Anyway only speculation. Would be interested to hear the real story from Virgin Blue/Pacific Blue.

Pacific Blue unannounced strike destoys holiday

on a side note the virgin hq looks pretty small :P

Its not that small... Mind you JB has been firing people left right and centre since he started so for those left I'm sure it feels even bigger!

We have a resident DJ staff member here, but, not wanting to seem like im taking a personal shot Crazydave (which Im not), but do you not reply to threads like this when an obviously distressed PAX has either missed a flight (and been off loaded) or your company has made a cough up? I realise there are flood issues happening.

There are quite a few threads where all of our airline reps clam up - and frankly this shouldn't be tolerated on this forum. Another member Drew commented just the other day regarding our Qantas rep as well, and after looking back on Drews post, it is glaringly obvious that the airline reps will only respond where it seems that KUDOS is achieved for either their own position or their company.

If a poster is going to claim they are affiliated with an airline, they need to start taking the good with the bad, and actually answering questions thrown at them, or stop representing yourselves as airline reps.

I am also disgusted in the way that the OP has been torn to pieces in this thread.

There is no need for it, and those who want to walk around with an intellectual hard on and correct the OP just because you know better, you need to apologise to the OP and rethink your take.

Sad

I missed all the in-fighting, but I know we now have 3 official posted from the Virgin group, and while I’ve seen crazydave98 recently online, I haven’t seen Velocity Rewards or Virgin Blue (although the latter was online today) and I’d assume this is because they’re probably based in Brisbane and do have some other issues to deal with right now.

All the company representatives are is verified, they’re not here as a full time job to help everyone person that asks for help, though that would be a great service to provide I guess.

Hopefully they can sort out their offices and their own houses and help out when they’ve helped themselves.

as with all members, are they not free to pick and choose which threads they reply to?

In the case of DJ staffers, I'd also cut them some slack, I think most will have better things to do at the moment.

They are free to choose but if they are here for anything it is to straighten out the facts in cases like this. If they only post about some good news story VB that will get reported by someone else anyway then I don't see the point of them being here.

I am prepared to hold judgement until I here the VB side of the story but not forever.

My impression is that Crazydave does jump into help for negative threads. I would sugges the benefit of the doubt and think that he is busy ATM.

I don't want to comment on the other stuff as I didn't see it but I totally agree with the sentiment that you expressed.

I agree, if they had to reply about every complaint about Virgin on here they would have a full time job - and some - doing so!

None of them are employed for the sole purpose of servicing this boards needs and wants. There are proper channels for that - called the phone.
