Hi Friends,

I recently joined OVO Energy under their Free 3 Plan, which gives $150 bill credit upon signing up (3 x $50 for the first 3 months).

OVO Energy has very competitive rates, what's best, is that they have a $120 referral program! ($10 off your bill for 12 months)

3 Easy Steps!
  1. Click on My Referral Link HERE
  2. Complete the sign up process
  3. Receive the $10 bill credit after your cooling off period, per month, up to 12 months.
    • If you sign up to the Free 3 Plan, the $50 monthly credit is instant once your connection is approved!
It would be absolutely amazing if members could sign up using my referral LINK! 🙏

I also joined recently. Working from home the Free 3 plan works very well:

Hi all,

I also joined recently. Competitive energy rates, and there's a referral offer of $120 credit over 12 months as a sweetener.

My referral link (much appreciated if someone could use mine).

FWIW, we recently churned away from OVO.
We had their solar plan for 12 mnths which worked out well, with a $100 "welcome credit" spread over 12 mnths. When it came to renewal their "best offer" was not competitive, and they were not interested in improving. Felt like they were encouraging us to leave.

Having solar the "Free 3" plan is of no use to us as that is when we are feeding in power, but good for you if it works. I suspect that reflects the glut of solar power available in the wholesale grid for zero cost while the sun shines, so OVO doesn't need its "in house" solar offsets.

In case you are wondering, we changed to Sumo.

Felt like they were encouraging us to leave.
This seems to be the way all businesses operate nowadays, all the offers are only for new customers and they don't bother doing the same to retain existing customers. It really does encourage everyone to churn through providers, and for something like energy, where there is no actual physical work to be done, it then makes sense to do this as often as you require.

I used someone’s referral code from here, and am now with Ovo Energy. Not only is Ovo significantly cheaper than the previous retailer I was with (Red Energy) but I get FREE ELECTRICITY every day between 11am-2pm on the Free 3 Plan (so I did a lot of baking today). They also pay 3 percent interest on any credit balance, plus they donate 50c per customer to National Parks and Wildlife and to date have donated $600k to this foundation.
Here’s my ‘refer a friend’ code and link to anyone switching over, you get $120 credit spread out over 12 months, (or $180 if you have an EV), and so do I. If you click on my referral link below it will take you to Ovo Energy’s home page where you can put in your address and find out more:

Thank you! I was wondering who it was. I have just received my first bill and am really happy I switched. I love Ovo’s app, I can see how much power I’m using (and saving) for each hour of the day, and the $15 per month refer a friend reduces the bill even more. Hope someone uses your referral next. Happy saving!

I've just signed up using you're referral link - enjoy the bonus! Found OVO cheaper overall using the referral links compared with other providers.

How does it work? For everyone using a referral link - we each get $120 in credit for the first 12 months split over each month ($10/month).

Thanks for that, yes really loving the free electricity from 11am to 2pm

I hope someone does this on your link!

I've just done a quick check and found no difference with the rates in my case. I guess it depends on the wholesale distributor for the local area? With all rates having gone up on 1st August, had to act!

Same here. I wouldn't want to be paying more just because I used a referral code. I checked the rates before switching and then checked again when I put the Referral code in and was no difference. Cheaper than my last retailer.

Rates vary quite a bit depending on distributor that's for sure!

With my old retailer, Tango, the new rates were going to cost me about $2,200 per year extra, we use lots of electricity.

Ovo will still cost me more than before, but they were the cheapest when I did the Vic Energy Compare.

The 3 hours of free electricity, I manage to use about 40-60kWh. Hot water 15kw, hot tub, 12kw washing machine 4kw, dishwasher 2kw and heating 5kw. If I'm at home, I'll sit outside with the outdoor heaters on :)
