Hi everyone, just have a quick question which may have been answered a few times.

Can someone else put points from their flights onto my frequent flyer card (into my account)?

A Qantas FF account is for an individual. Only that person's flights can be credited to the card.

If you are talking about someone else flying and using your card, then it is against the T&C of the scheme and could see your account suspended or terminated if found out.

There is a scheme where you can move points to an eligible family member (fairly broad term) once a year. See http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/terms#jump11 for more details.

No other way of transferring points to others.

Thankyou, that’s exactly what I wanted to know (well maybe not what I was hoping to hear though)!

You could if the other person had exactly the same name as you :)

Unless you flew at around about the same time and some (automated?) checking showed you couldn't have possibly been on those earning flights at the same time///

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Qantas do have a level of checking.

If you fly the same sector more than once on the same day, only one will post.

I have experienced this and so have others I know. I had to ring up to get the other points/SC's to post.

I doubt that such a thing happens, but you never know.

Living in Australia and every second Anglo-Saxon named Smith or Jones I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to find a flight with more than one Smith or Jones and the same initials. :D

IIRC, the man jailed in VIC for Frequent Flyer fraud was found out because someone investigated irregularities with the amount of sc's being earnt.

So audits can happen. How it was flagged is unclear.

Even a jealous acquaintance, suspicious airline staffer or similar could dob you into the airline concerned.

There is some relevant comment in this thread: http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/discus/viewtopic.php?t=878
