while this topic has been debated ad nauseum, I thought I'd add 1 more possible factor to the list - no special requests.

I almost always travel in J internationally, so I have never had an international op up (J - F appearing to me to be less common than Y - Y+/J or Y+ - J).

Last week I flew up to SIN on QF9. I was travelling with 3 colleagues; 2 of them were QF Gold and 1 had just made WP. I have been WP + PG for the past 8 years. All 3 of my colleagues were op-up'd from J - F. I was not happy

My only hypothesis - I have a vegetarian meal in my profile, so the computer didn't op me up b/c it would require a special meal.

Who knows? I'm off to the US next week, and expert flyer shows F8, so was thinking of droppiung the meal request to test this. However, expert flyer also shows J9, so not sure it would make any difference !

I'd be sueing Qantas for prejudice against Vegetarians!! :o But in all seriousness, serves you right for thinking you can make a difference by going veg.
