Flew Hong Kong to Sydney on CX in economy. Was refused an express path card upon Syd arrival. I have received them on Emirates, BA and AA as a QFF Plat before. So far CX haven't replied to my enquiry.

Have I misunderstood the Oneworld Emerald privileges rules?

Well, Sydney is among the 'select' airports on the drop-down list so the card should have been granted
I've never been refused one, even at BKK which isn't listed.

I flew CX in Y a couple of times last year and always got preferred seating, CSM greeting, often J wine and an express card. I find that CX often make more of a fuss than QF do. Sorry your experience wasn't up to scratch

Only travelled four times on CX and three of those times the extra services for being Sapphire (QF SG) were as you stated.

When did AA fly into SYD on their metal? Must've been before my time....

My last four international flights with qantas, I was given two express path cards, one arrival and one departure. Nothing on the other two. I asked on a flight back to sydney and the FA just said I will check if there is any left but never got back to me. Dont feel bad..even qantas doesn't take care of its own FFs.

yes you missunderstand, if you take a close look at the privileges page you will see what is on offer is express security screening.

Customs (on arrival) is NOT security so the OneWorld privileges really don't apply, so would be up to the individual airlines as to who they offer it to.

A late reply but yes, you're right.
I can't find arrival priority anywhere in OW as a stated benefit.

Flown them twice as a lowly pleb with QP and was treated abysmally and three times as a WP, twice recieving upgrades on cheapies (j and Y+) and treated like royalty.

In your experience CX makes more of a fuss than QF.

Your experiences are exceptions not the norm.

As a Q SG at time received flyng CX a J upgrade from Y twice, another time Mrs. Lime and self offered a row of 4 Y seats when plane near full, had FA introduce herself while in Y and asked 3 times during fight if we would like anther glass of wine.

Have never received express path on cx in many sectors in Y as a WP, its not a OW benefit as others have said....thats why I keep a stash of express paths from other flights handy although usually time my arrivals when it isnt busy into SYD.

Flew CX110 (SYD-HKG) in Y Tuesday last week. No beep at gate, no greeting on plane, nothing. Asked on the plane if they had express cards for arrival in HKG and was told "I'll bring it to your seat". About 10 minutes later a FA arrived at my seat with a small cup and said here is the expresso you ordered sir. I don't drink coffee so it was lost on me.....

Looks like I've got a 50% strike rate. Got moved from Y to J cabin (with Y service) on DragonAir out of KTM last night. Got the CSM greeting at my seat and was given bottled water which the other Y passengers who had also been moved didn't get. Now just checking my seat allocation in the Wing Lounge at HKG I was informed I have been upgraded from Y to Y+ on CX139 to SYD. 2 out of 4 flights makes me a happy camper.

AFAIK, there aren't any express arrival cards on offer for HKG. I've never been offered one as a WP or as a J Pax on CX. Not that there is any need, I find HKG Immigration to be an entirely painless experience.

have seen the bottled water and CSM greeting sporadically along with op-up/reseating. it has a lot to do with the number of MPC DM/GO elites on the flight as they will always favour those ahead of OWE/OWS. On a route like HKG-SIN for example you will see the elite list of the cart with dozens of names on it and not see any kind of special treatment as a non-MPC.
