Hi All,

Need to go to MAA in weeks time and doesn't look like QF flies there. Any suggestion of getting a flight out of SIN to MAA. I know SIN flyes to MAA. Is it possible for me to booke MEL- SIN on QF and SIN-MAA on SIN if there is no other option?

BTW i will fly to PE

What about using Jet? Or QF MEL-SIN-BOM then Kingfisher or Jet BOM-MAA?

You will fly in PE? Or to PE_?

Will fly Y+. do you know if they have good connection? I can fly MEL-SIN-BOM. But I found out BOM is in west and MAA is in south so i have to come back from west to south which will waste of time

I guess it depends on how much you want to stay on OW / QF. :?:

Note that QF doesnt have Y+ on SIN-BOM (it's an A330 which is J/Y only).

QF9 MEL-SIN dep 1705 arr 2140 connects to QF51 (continuation of BNE-SIN flight) dep SIN 2300 arr 0145

Return on QF52 (dep ~ 10am ex-BOM) connecting to QF10 so both directions connect fine.

The issue may be the 0145 arrival into BOM and having to wait for an early morning flight BOM-MAA. The options there seem to be

Sri Lankan airlines dep 0320 arr 0850 (transit CMB)
Kingifsher dep 0625 arr 0825 (direct) - probably best option
Jet dep 0640 arr 0835 (direct)

Connecting direct to Kingfisher, AI or Jet in SIN might be easier!

Thinking of other OW alternatives, CX have a single daily HKG-MAA but it dep 2235 so if you took QF29 to HKG you'd have almost a whole day in HKG (iirc QF29 arr into HKG ~10am??)

There's options on OW, but all seem to involve significantly higher overall travel times than a connection in SIN.

Tried a sample booking thru QF website from MEL - MAA: Getting there you can go QF MEL-SIN-BOM and then transfer either onto Kingfisher or Indian Airlines. Leaving MEL at 16.30 gets you into MAA just before 9am the next day. Coming back they offer an AI flight leaving MAA at 13.15 which connects to QF to go SIN-ADL-MEL arriving back in MEL @ 10.55 the next day. Sample dates used were 14/10/10 - 24/10/10.

I then tried www.farecompare.com which was able to find many one-stops to/from MAA (ie MEL-xx_-MAA) using Emirates but all of them seemed to have LONG layovers in SIN or KUL so the QF option looks the best time-wise.

Thanks for the information. If i fly kingfisher or jet airways from SIN and domestically within India do i get any status credits / point as i heared they are OW partner or about to join OW
