Qantas( and other airlines) allows inter-net check-in and seat selection 24 hours before flying. This means that on International Flights, passengers in West Australia are 2/3 hours behind Eastern States passengers in accessing the site. This seems unfair. Any way around this?

WA pax would be at no disadvantage for OLCI - If it opens at 24hrs prior to departure, then pax can log in from anywhere at this time and check-in/select seat - Adjust your time to the time of depature at origin.

There's no online checking for QF International.
And no OLCI for domestic flights that have an international connection.

For WA flights, its 23 hours prior to departure.

Why 23 hours? shouldn't it be 22 hours? WA is 2 hours behind the east coast (and they have daylight savings).

Who knows. Maybe they forgot to account for daylight saving

Online check-in is now available for Qantas and QantasLink Australian and New Zealand domestic bookings between 24 hours* and 1 hour before your flight departure.
Check-in from home, the office or anywhere you can access the internet and a printer.
* Online check-in for flights ex Western Australia open 23 hours before departure.

I suspect some software they're using as part of the Online Check-in process is not DST compatible for the trial in WA.

Other than that, can't really think of any legitimate reason why.
