Flew BOS-JFK-MIA-SJU today, On the MIA-SJU leg the purser had a list and greeted all of the Emerald level pax in J (highest cabin on this plane). He also took dinner orders ensuring status pax got their first choice.

He was quite genuine about thanking us for flying AA.

Another pax tried to give his dinner order and was told it would be collected later. The pax was told that dinner orders were being done for EXPLT (OWE) then PLT then others.
As dzinh mentions probably wrong forum ;)

I've had a mixed bag on AA. I've been upgraded from exit row on an MD80 to F with only 3 other pax in the F cabin (very strange, never been on an AA flight that's been anything other than oversold) and been on many AA flights in F doing mileage runs 'early'; AA's program is Jan-Dec so when they see someone doing a run in September they say "but you're early it's not December yet!". They're very familiar with the status runner. Throw in the Aussie accent, and i've always had amazing service from them. A quick chat in the galley on some of the longer flights, and you'd be amazed at how much alcohol they will give to you (without any asking or prompting) in a 'to go' bag too ;)

But back to VA ;)

Flying Per - Mel on Sunday was approached while seated, acknowledged me as Plat as said we are carrying out some training in Business and need the cabin a bit fuller would you like to come with me. Op Up of the A330 :)

I'm pretty happy with the recognition I receive from QF. Greetings always by Mr. Shifty from all staff and generally an intro and chit chat from the CSM once seated. But I'm generally in J so perhaps it's a business thing.

On a flight last year, I had the CSM introduce himself and recognise me as apparently the most senior QFF on the flight. Got me buggered how they work that out as i thought they only have status on the manifest. Not even sure what senior is for that matter, but I did feel pretty chuffed at the time :)

EDIT: oops - yeah, yeah wrong forum...

I understand the recognition you get with QF.... But, your in the wrong forum good sir!

Haha just boarded 810 flight from NTL to BNE, FA welcomed back the guys before and after me by name when directing them to their seat. I just got told where my seat was. I'm VA platinum. Reminded me of this thread. Not really bothered but for a split second it definitely felt like a snub.

Flight Melbourne to Sydney this morning and back again this afternoon. Priority boarding done very well but nothing from either cabin crew - no welcome. no offer of a newspaper: nothing

Very generous in their welcome on the LAX - BNE flight this morning - handed me a Express Card for arrival, gave me a general thanks.

As previously, it great to hear that VA is looking after their high-tier customer on the international flights.

A little better treatment on trans-Tasman and longish-domestic flights would be an excellent next step.

Had a great experience Trans Tasman last week (Plat here), absolutely nothing on the domestic connecting service, in fact barely a nod.

The Trans Tasman service was excellent however, with a genuine welcome on board, bottles of water offered a couple of times instead of the usual glass and a seat blocked between the 2 of us on the booking - couldn't have expected more.

Unfortunately I hardly get any. Today was no exception (Trans Tasman). Even worse. Two people who weren't platinum and who weren't on a Flexi fare were offered the snack, with compliments of the Flight Attendant: "Today this is complementary for you" (both pax definitely no relationship with each other, one pax rejected the offer) and I wasn't offered anything.
Not that I miss the sandwich, but I consider the lack of consistency of recognition by the FA's annoying. I was seated in 3C.
Would be better if it was consistent so I felt like it was a real service....

I'm not sure I have this correct but wasn't the morning capital connect service meant to recieve a newspaper (for all pax)?

Capital Connect is SYD & MEL to CBR and back.

Is it  ?......here I was thinking a capital connect service would er, connect capitals! Like all of them!

How silly I am at times.

Thanks for the correction Liam.

My experience has been some great things, traveling with kids, those express passes through security are magic when the lines are long, except I have had some ridiculous security people try to tell me I wasn't allowed to use it (probably because hoodies ans trainers don't match his expectation of golds/plats, ans with kids I tow lol!)

On recent flight last week, was in economy, only 2 seats taken on premium but was not offered a bump up, particularly as my seat mate was large and "leaking" through onto my chair. I now make sure I have my tags clearly visible on my carryon luggage, sometimes they notice and are a bit more attentive

Had an interesting experience on my BNE - PER service today.

Was full fare J. Booked late last week.

No recognition on boarding, no CSM introduction, even though she greeted every other pax in the cabin.
FA continually got my name wrong even after being corrected, he finally just ended up addressing me as "mate".

Not sure whether to put it down to new A330 crews ex-BNE, or the fact that I am not of the age of most other J pax.

Still tossing up whether to leave feedback or not

Doesn't cost anything to provide feedback - at the very least it lets management know that there's work to be done.

No new crew bases have opened since A330 BNE flights. Still SYD, MEL, PER only.

Best to leave feedback.
