Offer to sponsor for upgrade - AC 02/12 & 08/12.

Can't find any similar thread by searching, and this seems to be the most logical category of the forum to put this post into. Mods - please feel free to move if necessary.

It's that time of the year again, when I haven't managed to use all my yearly upgrade certificates and have a couple spare with current plans showing no chance of using them before end of status year.

If anyone is travelling the following flights, I'm happy to "sponsor" you for an upgrade into AC's Executive First cabin with one of my certificates.
(Please note the eligible classes required - the certificates I have spare don't allow upgrading from any other classes.)

AC34 SYD-YVR 02DEC - can upgrade from Y M or U classes.
AC33 YVR-SYD 08DEC - can upgrade from Y M or U classes.
In the remote chance anyone on this ow/QF-centric board is actually on those AC flights in the right class, send me a PM and we'll go from there. We don't have to sit together (bit hard to do so anyway with AC's single suite design in their International J cabin! ) or anything like that - as a Status member I just have to sponsor you into the cabin and hand over a Cert for it.

If you do not get much of a response here, maybe you could offer on the FT AC forum. As you posted, this forum is rather "ow/QF-centric".

These certificates appear to be an instrument basically designed to upgrade ones companion travelling with you - quite interesting.

The AC FT and CF forums have a wiki-board www site where you can post can sponsor or need sponsor type messages, so I've done that. Very Canadian-centric as you can imagine, so be nice to offer a local the chance for a change.
AC doesn't have mileage upgrades, just cert upgrades. Although they're personalised, you're allowed to upgrade one (any) companion provided you are on the same flight. You start the status year off with quite a few, pending the package you select, then get more through the year by passing certain threshold mileage levels, hence the few spare at year end almost every year. It's not too bad a scheme, but like all of them has it's plusses and minuses.
