With respect, that's like saying the image is ok and just an image and should not be considered pornographic because it's just an image. The OP was not 'just' about 'an advertisement' but about the content of the advertisement.Let's try to remember this thread concerns an advertisement in the Qantas magazine, not implicit support of SSM, not Margaret Court, not George Pell, not religion, not apartheid. Please try stick to the topic, otherwise your posts may be moderated/removed.
Cool! Just when I thought the consumption of my initial serve of popcorn coincided beautifully with Samh004's very sane "curtains closing", I realise that another batch of microwave popcorn may be needed...... bring on that elephant!!With respect, that's like saying the image is ok and just an image and should not be considered pornographic because it's just an image. The trolling OP was not 'just' about 'an advertisement' but about the content of the advertisement.
By all means close ordelete the whole thread but you can't ignore the elephant ion the room, so to speak.
You would think someone may have noticed and told him to remove the golf ball, unless of course it was there on purpose to get more media coverage (highly likely IMO).Maybe QF can team up with the recent Northern Ireland ad campaign to come up with a travel deal?
Is that a golf ball in his pocket or should we all be disgusted by the smut... is it smut if its only same sex or can the hetros get a bit of the smut ad action as well?
here is a hetero sexual add from the QF mag from August 2007 #170 (yes, I have a very extensive collection of QF inflight mags since my first flight with them in August 2007 )I am not in Perth. GLBC Gay and Lesbian Community. Having flown qantas for close to 20 years I am yet to see a hetro sexual add.
thanks for voicing your opinion but care very little for what you stated.
in my opinion it's wrong to have that in a mag, you can disagree....
I can't believe they allowed such smut in their magazine. Don't they realise that children would see it?
Just catching up on this weeks reading...I have only noticed it today land hence I am commenting on it. If you want to see and read smut then go an buy smutty mags just let's not see it in publicly trading companies that we buy shares in and trust with our welfare
Thank you drron for the most wonderful human comment. I'm sat here with tears running down my face. I'm glad I didn't read this sat in my lonely hotel room in Melbourne during the week. This morning, sat at home, in our beautiful sun filled house, I was able to get a hug from my wonderful partner Al when he came in and asked me what was wrong. I said nothing, things are actually rightAs I said a trivial issue. What has upset me more on AFF is Bigpetebrown's TR on Brazil. The fact that gay couples feel they can't openly express their love for each other in Australia is so sad. That should be a universal right.
You can't assume the person is a troll. Just because they express a view contrary to yours does not make them a troll. And this simply proves the issues the gay community still has. How often do we get "trolls" randomly launching new accounts to attack the black community, the Asian community etc... yet it still happens to the gay community.
Of all the things in the world to be concerned about, the OP had issues with an advertisement in the Qantas magazine. So the person might not be a troll, but their behaviour very closely resembles one.You can't assume the person is a troll. Just because they express a view contrary to yours does not make them a troll.
Sat next to Peter Dutton yesterday in row 2 and in light of his recent comments about AJ using QF to promote same sex marriage I was just so very tempted to show him the advertisement.
