I have filled all of the ESTA details. I'll call Qantas. I'm sort of worried because I bought it from Expedia Ireland on a very cheap fare that prob shouldn't of been sold within Australia- I dont want Qantas to turn around and say you cant fly on that flight.
The fare wasn't sold in Australia, it was sold in Ireland. You have nothing to worry about from that perspective.

TBH I would just let sleeping dogs lie. QF don't have any issues as an eticket has been issued so as far as they are concerned it's been paid for by the agent.

The fact that you used a computer in Australia to make your booking does not mean the booking was 'sold' here - it was sold in Ireland. I wouldn't go call go calling the airline as then it might become a problem if you keep ringing up about it.

The issue is Expedia Ireland not charging you so just let nature take its course on this one.

Good advice ozbeachbabe , but I worry because Expedia seems to be the agent for Qantas Ireland , the purchase *should* be listed on my CC as Qantas Ireland (as confirmed by my friend who did a similar purchase )

Then don't spend the money. Keep it available on your credit card. Expect it to be charged at checkin. If not you win.

Sent from my Telstra iPhone using the Australian Frequent Flyer application.

Not flying-related but at the en of my one and only cruise (as an adult) I paid my bar tab (I couldn't believe the number of pages that printed out - did I drink that much? ) by credit card, but no txn showed up. I'm a bit vague on the sequence of events now but I think they (not me) had recorded the CC number with 2 digits swapped. I believe I attempted to let them know this, but with no success. It may have been close to a year later they sent me a dirty letter demanding immediate payment, as though it was my fault. I paid, but also paid out on them. :)

The point being, it may take a while, but expect (probably) to eventually be billed.

Qantas can take some time to charge for flights - especially flights so far out. With the ticket number though ... Things seem to be ok payment wise. Have you filled in all of the ESTA details required? QF used to (not sure about now), not finalise flights to the US until that was provided.

BTW, If nothing gets charged, I suggest checking in online/arriving at the airport super early to ensure any wrinkles can be sorted.

I have booked tickets for the US for June 2013 and QF issued my eticket (as we all know are only issued once payment goes through) within a few hrs same goes with a flight for Japan in April 2013.

Check my Credit Card, Finally they charged me for the flight after about 4-5 months!

Now I can relax!

I'm still waiting for my above mentioned booking to ticket - I'll give it until October.

On a similar note - I made a hotel booking with Expedia about a year back. Everything went through fine, but then I got a call from them saying that there was an issue and they needed my credit card details again. I thought this was a bit dodgy, so said that I would call them back (they gave me the official Expedia number to call back on). Anyway, when I called them back I got a different operator who had no idea what it was all about. Swore himself blue that everything was fine and that payment had gone through.

I went to the hotel, stayed there with no issues. Till this day I've not been charged the >$1000 that the hotel cost.
