I think this is the first LCC service to run from Europe to South America. London to Rio de Janeiro with Norwegian Air.

I may actually give this service a try if there is a good sale at some point. I'm planning to book a flight from Europe to Brazil at some point anyway, and this looks like it's not a bad option. The Y fare is quite high currently (for a LCC) at $647++ one-way. Premium is around $1,000. I assume there will be sales over time and the price will come down a bit.
