Nobody will care, but...

I rushed my cat into the vet hospital a few hours ago.

They aren't sure if he's got liver disease, a bile duct obstruction, or cancer. He was stupidly jaundiced.

The prognosis isn't good.

Never felt my heart break so fast in all my life.

I had an emergency vet visit last week, kitty hadn't eaten in 24 hours. Turned out it's just her teeth! Wishing you a similarly easy and non-life threatening answer.

Cats are hard, because they will often hide signs of pain until it's critical. Wishing you and your furry friend a good outcome.

Many of us have beloved pets and care.

I was just thinking over the weekend how I still miss our gorgeous boy and he's been gone for over a year. He too had an episode a few months prior, pancreatitis, but recovered well despite the seriousness so take heart.

We do care, as many of us have had cats that have passed. I have had two that went AWOL only to show up months later ill and dying in days.

Our boy, Zephyr, had been covering up severe pancreatitis and irreversible liver failure.
The vets suggested with strong opioids and assistance he might survive two weeks at home.

No creature deserves that sort of pain and suffering.

He fell asleep shortly after 3pm. Covered in kisses and head rubs, and licking salmon paste from his paw.

Maybe I'll catch sight of him next time I'm up amongst the clouds.

If you have a fur baby, hug them all the harder tonight.

Thank you for the sad update, cats seem to hide things that will hurt you as I alluded to with my two moggies going MIA after getting ill. Take care, their space may be empty tonight but at least the suffering has ended.

Very sorry to hear about your cat, I hope the prognosis is better than you are anticipating.
I lost one of my cats in similar circumstances as he had been hiding his symptoms and was so uncomplaining that the problem wasn't picked up early enough.

Zephyr got to a good nine and a half years. But still far less than anyone would ever hope to have with a fur baby.

I'll happily share more at a lounge crawl, but the sweetest, dearest ones that come to mind.

- Just after coming home as a kitten, he slept underneath the sofa for the first few weeks. In the morning, I'd go drop a few treats at the foot of the sofa, just to see this tiny paw come out and pull them underneath.

- He once saw a wattlebird on the balcony of our apartment when we were living down in Melbourne. Full Looney Toons style, he raced and jumped at the bird - only to go splat against the window and slide down.

- After a particularly exhausting run of work, I fell asleep face down on the bed after getting home. The wife wandered past the bedroom to see the cat mirroring my position.

I'll happily bore whoever wants to listen when we have some champagne in our hands. You'll forgive me if I'm just a tad weepy at the mo to share too many more right now.

Yes. That's what our boy did until it got too much. Pancreatitis. He did recover somewhat as I said but we had to let him go later.

So sorry you have lost your gorgeous cat = but I am sure that he had a wonderful and loved life with you and his final sleep sounded very peaceful. Condolences.
