No more VA - BNE to HKT

JB announced this some time ago, believe DJ services via Perth are the alternative (or strategic).

I believe that Virgin Blue will still fly to HKT from PER.

Edit: Just realised that I should have refreshed after returning to my desk. Markis10 beat me to it.

Yes DJ will be servicing PER-HKT in a 737 for now.

That trip on a DJ 737 is around 6 hours too long for me....

They have been doing PER-HKT via 737 since they started HKT services on the 14 Nov 2009. If you think that is a long trip for a 737, try FJ NAN-HNL @ 8 hours!

Shame about this...just flew SYD-HKT (via BNE) on VA...the 777 is real nice in whY, much better than QF/JQ and TG which are the other airlines I've flown to Thailand.

Glad I got to sample the service before its demise, but a 737 from Perth? Back to QF/JQ sale fares and TG for me.

I don't think that the PER-HKT service was ever a real substitute for the BNE-HKT service. It was a separate service (operated by a separate airline).

Depending on which Asian carrier DJ forges an alliance with, there may be some form of alternative in the future. Mind you, if it is one of the Japanese carriers, going via Japan is probably no better than via Perth!
