Since I'm going to the UK later this year, I've been researching BA Avios.
Apparently you can get some avios by using your registered card in (participating) stores.
Problem is, I can't register my AU credit card, no matter which one I tried. The error message doesn't tell you anything other than it's not linked.
Anyone has experience with this? Does it only apply to UK credit cards?

Thanks!

Do you have an example store because I'm in UK now and I've got both UK and Aus cards and I can have a play

Not any example stores.
Because first you need to register the card on BA website and I'm already stuck....🤢

In theory, once your card is registered, the spending will be automatically tracked (so you don't have to remember which stores are participating) - that's my understanding anyways.

Edit, see screenshot. This is BA website

Sorry, I misunderstood your query. 😖

No problems!

So BA have this thing where you can just register your credit card and get points when you spend on that card in participating stores...

I was like, easy points!
Err, not so easy clearly 🤢

What card are you using - can you use a multi currency card like Wise

I've tried all my credit cards, no luck not even AMEX which generally works with anything...which is why I'm thinking it's to do with the issuing country.
Don't have a Wise though.

I just tried to log into BA and it's just spinning it's wheels. I will have a play later when I'm not supposed to be working

I will try Wise before I try my UK debit card

I can't find that particular link so if you can post the link I will explore me (I'm on a lunch break now)

Never mind - found it

OK I've successfully linked my Wise card and the Macquarie card - I chose those two because they both have very small limits and I'm a very open wifi but can try to add an Amex when I get home

Oh and thanks for the tip

So both debit cards?
Hmmm I've only tried my credit cards...time for a debit!

A bit off topic - I just checked the BAEC earn on Accor stays if you link your accounts you get very slightly more avios than having Accor linked to Qatar Privilege Club. 2.5 avios per 2 euro spent Vs 2 for 2. Which is odd.
