UPDATE. Just got hold of someone official and I have been told that access to Syd, Mel and Bne Club lounges for platinum members is now permanently in place. The website and an official announcement will be made shortly.

Good news for the Accor platinum people.

This is brilliant. So nice to finally seeing them participating properly. And I love the offer of points etc if the lounge is unavailable.

my question - does the breakfast and 1,000 points apply to a Pullman or Sofitel that doesn't have a Lounge? Ie, Pullman Sydney Olympic Park doesn't have one as far as I know (they didn't have one the other week when I stayed there).

Unfortunately not - reading the T&C's only applies if existing lounge in Australia is unavailable or closed (see below)

[h=1]Terms & conditions[/h]Print1. General Le Club AccorHotels terms and conditions apply and you must be Le Club AccorHotels Platinum member to benefit from it.
2. The Club Sofitel Lounge access benefit in Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Sofitel Brisbane Central and Sofitel Melbourne On Collins is valid from 26 February 2016 to unlimited.
3. To receive your Le Club AccorHotels benefit of complimentary access to Club Sofitel and Executive Lounges, as well as all other benefits, you must make your booking on AccorHotels.com, our participating brands websites and applications and via AccorHotels Call Centres. All other reservation channels are not eligible.
4. You must provide your Le Club AccorHotels Loyalty card number when making your reservation, and present your card at the hotel reception desk when you check-in for your stay.
5. Access is valid for Le Club AccorHotels Platinum members and one (1) guest staying in the same room only at existing lounges in Sofitel and Pullman Hotels in Australia.
6. If the existing lounge in Australia is unavailable or closed, the member will be offered free full buffet breakfast (member and 1 guest in same room) and 1,000 Le Club AccorHotels Courtesy Points.

Pullman Sydney Olympic Park does have a lounge (it is actually not a bad size where 3 rooms interlink) it is just not open all of the time. I think only if sporting events are on? At least the 2 times I went there they were for 'events' and it was open but the lady said it wasn't always open. Breakfast was given in the main restaurant not sure if this is standard. They serve you food in the lounge there is no buffet so you get what you get.

just about to make a booking for two rooms in sydney sofitel and was wondering if anyone can confirm my plat benefits (namely lounge access) would then carry across both rooms and all guests?

just spent a night in pullman on park in melb and the rooms i booked for other workmates both had the exec lounge access included. This was a pleasant surprise for all, just wondering if common.

No direct experience with Sydney Sofitel but I booked 2 rooms several times at Sofitel and Pullman hotels in Australia and overseas and never had an issue getting the occupants of both rooms into the lounge. Remember you need to book both rooms under your name and you need to be present at check-in.

thanks, thats what i planned to do so fingers crossed. not for a couple of months but will let you know how i go.

How did you go? Did you get lounge access at Sofitel Sydney for both rooms under Platinum benefits?

Not the Sofitel I know but Mercure / Pullman Brisbane has actually guaranteed me 3 rooms executive lounge access through my platinum status for an up and coming stay so just proves anything is possible :-|

trip done and dusted.

lounge access was only covered on one room but did get a suite upgrade from deluxe room booking. have to give that room to the inlaws due to needing twin beds to fit the kids, that should give me some brownie points!
