At LHR now, check in good, fast track slow only one scanner operating, and two bag scanners opersting.

Stuck at Glasgow, flight oversold and despite having a confirmed seat (selected it 10 months ago), they won't check me in, say I don't have a seat.

No lounge access because I can't get a boarding pass, no where to sit. Absolutely pathetic airlines should not be able to oversell.

Worried about rest of my itinerary now if I can't fly this leg.

They wont even look into putting me on another flight until the one im booked on departs, disgusting attitude from check in agent.

People complain about Qantas but BA are absolutely ****house. Avoid BA at all costs.

anyone been though terminal 2 recently? my trip is just over 2 weeks away,. just want to know what the baggage situation is at the moment. is it coming though? how long did it take?

OLCI shows me as checked in without a seat, but boarding pass won't print.

At 24hrs before I was out of mobile phone coverage so couldn't jump on as soon as it opened.

Was at airport 4 hours before scheduled departure. Been standing whole time as there are no seats in departures, likely to burst a kidney soon as luggage won't fit in toilet cubical and can't be left unattended.

Ridiculous to be just left in limbo, won't even look at alternatives until original flight departs. No compensation offered, whereas in USA you get food and drink vouchers even if have no status.

I wish nothing but ill will to whomever has taken my confirmed seat.

I am convinced BA have less idea than AJ on how to run an airline. Must be losing $100k's a day on baggage couriers alone. Not to mention all the people missing flights unecessarily due to bogus check in issues and only having 1/3 of security screening gates open.

So it turns out they oversold Y and are trying to claim back 2 rows of J (because BA J isnt really J, just an economy seat with middle seat blocked). Instead of bumping a y with no status they tried to bump 2 Js, but im gold and other passenger who like me originally had seats in row 2 is a P1.

Both of us finally given boarding passes 5 mins after boarding started, had to argue with security to jump screening queue, guard yells at me for not arriving earlier, i was fuming as had arrived 4 hours pre flight departure. Then had to run over a kilometer to gate tobe last and second last to board. Positive luggage wont make it.

There is a sullen looking teenager sitting in my pre-selected seat (inexcuseable), im now stuck in row 1, still busting to go to the loo, dreading having to use plane toilet which should not have been necessary on a short flight.

If i was old or had mobility isssues there is absolutely no way i could have made it from check in to plane before the door closed.

BA need to get organised, and have priority queue always in operation if there are flights with J and F seats operating.

What should have been a leisurely morning sitting in lounge ended up being 3 hours of standing up, with no facilities, arguments to get a seat and clear security and frantic run.

And now we are just sitting here, not moving and no pre departure beverage offered.

The equivalent of the Windows "blue screen of death"

What did you do to advocate for the boarding pass?

Understand the extreme frustration but hardly the passenger's fault. But agree, If the airline wants to oversell, they have to do better.
By taking back the J row were they thinking of unblocking the middle seat and therefore getting 3 seats by bumping 2 pax?

I went back to counter once boarding started, showed her the BA ticket online that said my seat 2D was confirmed, she mumbled and then miraculously found seats for myself and the other lady.

When boarding they were pfaffing around trying to remove the middle seat blocker from last row of J, heard FA say to colleague, they thought they were removing 2. Unbelievable they tried to bump 2 J because ddint properly manage their Y allocation.

Yes sounds like they were trying to get 3 seats fo rthe price of 2 pax
Should always be the lowest fares , no status first off
BA is just a legacy airline with much the same issues as QF - too old to really care about their customers/employees.

BA has never offered PDB in CE

By some miracle my bags made it, my Tiles told me they were on board, but didnt believe it until i saw them on the carousel. As we were the only domestic arrival into T5 at that time, bags took about 10mins to arrive and mine were 1st and 5th off. I think most of the flight had onward connections, as only about 15 people waiting for bags.

Also noticed 3 pilots seated in J, they may also have bumped people if they were last minute repositioning.

If you are QFF WP you can use the First wing at T5 to check in which gives you fast track security with exit to the first lounge.

Another thing that isn't advertised is that if you are in J on BA and have spent GBP 2500+ each person you can also use the first Wing.

Heathrow is a complete mess at the moment - although it is improving. But to improve, they've capped departures at 100,000 per day (no limit on arrivals) and basically told airlines to no longer offer flights ex LHR for sale.

BA have also cancelled numerous flights to help keep under their caps as well. The whole situation is crazy, and is a result of under investment in staff post Covid.

yep. cap until sep 11, which is the day i fly back to BNE. will be interesting to see if it helps.

Checked in last Wednesday LHR Terminal 3.
3 hours to check in (with priority check in) and get through security.
I arrived at terminal 4 1/2 hours before flight. Airport authorities are requesting that travellers only arrive 3 hours before flight.
