All heads wine, early vintages all round(mostly).
Head red really surprised us all,the 2012 was the top pick for the ladies, a bit of complexity of red fruit , smooth and light weighted ,only a little tannins left. 2013 show more tannins, less fruity ,more medium body wine.
The old vine Grenache are the one that got me hooked up back in the days, not as popular as Shiraz in SA. 2010 finished strong ,red fruit, taste clean. 2012 fall a bit short on the finish, easy drinking, the ladies loves it.
Both blonde are blend of Shiraz viognier, wine of the night for the guys, I always found it taste a bit weird when this blend ages, drinking well now.nothing wrong with the wine, just me.
The brunette’s are my favourite here, both shows really well, it needs more time, I think it just started to age a bit, still plenty of black fruit and tannins.a bigger wine than contrarian.
The contrarian’s are not far behind from the brunettes,it’s savoury, the 10 was Barossa fruit and 12 was Eden fruit, both are not as jammy as other SA Shiraz,a little less bodies than brunettes , this drinks better than the brunettes at this stage.
