Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

There was only one millennial at the table and it wasn't me ;)

I think it was the 2017 actually. Was a seriously good one. Served blind and not knowing it was Gamay you wouldn't pick it as an Australian wine. Good now and will be even better in another couple of years.

17 is a keeper, their whole range is good value, winemaker done a great job.

Didn't take a picture but I've enjoyed the 2010 Whistler Cabernet Sauvignon tonight. An excellent wine with body and a smokey after taste. I have three left so I'll be enjoying those this winter.

2012 was wine of the night, by a whisker over the 2008 (I think I've got that around the right way - we had someone who couldn't make up their mind become tie-breaker), but there was a bit of spread in the voting (11 people present). Consistency across the range was the hallmark (not unexpected).

Tried with 2 different glasses.

The wine in zalto glass shows up well with some air time, until I tried an aged Italian I can’t confirm this is better than the plummb glass.

The same wine in the plummb glass gives me a bit more concentrated fragrance, the wine didn’t open up at the same time as the zalto, I don’t think it’s a bad thing because older/aged wines loses flavour a lot faster when it touches air, this might be an better option than zalto?

Anyway, these Italian wine are very purplish ,just like the one I tried last time, dark fruit and on the savoury side , I’m starting to like Italian wines more.
