Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Here’s to you Steady, I raise you from the case next to the 389s.

Surprising, it’s actually very good drinking. Tannins have softened just enough to be warm instead of biting, good fruit.

Normally not a fan of StH but this one is very good indeed. Much better than the 2010 I last tried.

Reminds me of a recent post, should I crack a 707 and then you do the grange... then I do a Tassie Pinot :D

I only started collecting 389 cases from ‘12, this was my second and last of 2 x ‘08 389’s I had. I have 1 x ‘08 StHenri I will open this year

Started the Penfolds 6 cases of 6 wines (128, 28, 389, StH, 407, +) a year about 20 years ago. Oldest 389 is 92 but not game to open it!

Your ‘challenge’ is a bit I’ll show you mine if... Seems a sensible challenge?

But I’m worried on where would you go after the Sassicaia 04 or the Elio Altare Barolo 98?

Ps: used to be about $200 for the 6x6. Now is in the $1500+ range.:(

Just a couple of Easter holiday images the first one taken at the Tasman Peninsula on one of Tassie's superb autumnal days, such a lovely expression of the Sparkling Shiraz style from Kay Brothers (thanks yet again Rug). Wife took the shot but had obviously had a few:)....
Kay Bros Bubbly.JPG

Had a few restauranter friends around last night and they raided their cellar, not a massive Pinot fan normally but the Burgundian although light in colour had good complexity and was a gentle start to the meal, the Lanson was very pleasant indeed...

I’m a big fan of French Pinot Noir.
Especially from that particular area of Burgundy. Planning a trip there later in the year.

Broke my last Zalto universal last night. Anyone suggest where to buy them at a good price?

Wine Glassware is where I've purchased all my Zaltos from. Not sure if that's considered a good price or not though.
Thanks. Check my old emails and the last lot I got from McPhees for $59.95 a glass. This time half dozen from winetraveller.com.au for $325.00 in freight. (Figured I buy enough to cover breakages this time.:()
