On Vivino and Winosphere I posted the following note:

"What a way to muscle on to Serrat's customer list! I don't regret buying a six pack of Serrat's latest Pinot Noir vintage direct from their website.

Now Serrat is famed for its high density Yarra Valley vineyard, and it's super-low yield of less than a bottle a vine. They're also most famous for striking gold with their 2014 Shiraz Viognier, that won Halliday's wine of 2016. It's quite a CV. And it looks like they've produced another seriously classy wine.

This 2015 vintage hails from their 2001 old block of MV6 type Pinot Noir. After 20% whole bunches are used in the ferment, it spent 11 months in 500 litre French oak puncheons, 15% new.

The nose is hypnotic, drawing you in with red & black cherry, strawberry, tar, cigar box, and sweet and savoury French oaked spices and a touch of honeycomb and ginger. The silky smooth palate follows suit, with a fine drive and long, lingering finish.

Huge potential. Drink now to 2022. $42 is a bargain for this quality of Pinot. It's why it gets a big Wozza 95.5/100 (4.3/5.0) from me."

If you're keen to land some, then Serrat are still selling them for $42 a bottle here:

The Serrat '15 PN is also available at EpiQure- same price but free delivery for premium members and a few QF points.

I purchased some directly from Serrat but their freight charge was rediculas

Yeth ...fifteen bucks for a 6 pack..
It was not a particularly cerebral purchase..
Just having a a quick browse last evenin' and and the wozza tick tripped the safety ( which has been firmly locked of late… )

So I presume I can't go and buy a bottle down in MEL when I am there next week? Only online and Epicure?

Hmm, 9.6% cashback if I pick up from Langtons...but they are all auctions and prices are $59 to $66, so I'm out :o

Are the auctions for the Shiraz V or the Pinot? The pinot is good (I bought some at release), but not worth those prices

I'm fortunate enough to have access to a wine consultant (Penegal) almost 24/7ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1484381514.299574.jpg Subsequently I'm enjoying this drop on a hot Brisbane afternoon.

Nice Shiraz! I was on the balcony attempting some plane spotting with flight radar and YBBN ATC on the laptop. I lasted less than five minutes before retreating inside.

Still 31 outside here. I pop out quickly to see how the slow roast beef filet is going on the Weber Q then rush back into 23C for another swig!

Fabulous Cabernet tonight as a reward for lots of hard work around the house. It's rich, smooth, luscious, silky and delicious.
