Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Two of my favourite recently acquired reds:D

Sorry to say but I like the second red best. A big disappointment for me is that one of my closest friends never offered me a ride of his red. When I mentioned this to him one day, he simply replied you never asked. I hate going off topic but one of my best memories is getting to ride an ex Moto GP 250 bike. Faaaaark!

Wow, that would have been awesome Buzz. Very jealous. I'm very familiar with bid reds but still easing my way into the world of Super Tuscans and Superbikes! Faaaaark, life's too short! Having a foray into one of my first reds from the 2016 vintage. Looks very promising thus far. Opened the digestion with this first.

Yes, sacrilege. Those who can't afford Austrian varietal stemware really shouldn't be allowed to buy wine in the first place - let alone contaminate AFF by posting photographic evidence.

If we are not careful, QF WQ will think its ok to resume posting photos of his multi-coloured trunkware

A superb wine! Sensational Riesling.... two words I've never used together before.

Sommelier recommendation to match one of the best meals of my life.

Another Bangkok extravaganza.... only 12 courses this time :)

This is a lovely red from McLaren Vale: fleshy, big-boned, luscious mouth-feel, the dark plums and blackberry coursing through it's substantial structure aided by elegant tannins and a soupçon of liquorice, it wears it's 15.1% alcohol like a velvet mantle. The name is also special as it is symbolic of the generosity of a fellow AFFer who gifted this fine drop, cheers mate, you know who you are ;).....

FNC: Bought these last these last year on a visit to Mornington. Was impressed when purchased. Another year has added nice complexity, some nectarines, white peach, mild butter characters. Recommended!

Probably the best selection of complimentary reds at an exec lounge last night-

Cracked the crown seal on a bottle of Kay Bros Sparkling Shiraz courtesy of Rug on the weekend and it is without doubt the best example of its kind I've tasted to date. This vibrant Sparkling Shiraz drinks beautifully now, a super intense colour of crushed mulberries, a dense and persistent mousse and a finish that carries on seemingly forever, chewy mulberries on the palate with touches of cherry, black currant, wild raspberry, earth and spice, not too far off being an effervescent and almost liqueur-like version of their Hillside Shiraz, bloody delicious!

The last 10 days worth of drinking due to our delightful neighbours - they are a gift that keeps on giving. My wife even enjoyed a couple that aren't Bordeaux

Having 2 home made pizza's tonight, a prawn pizza and a salami and ham pizza. So what to drink?
I think I have found the perfect compromise wine, this little beauty given to +1 and I by a generous Tassy based AFFer. It's drinking perfectly with a nice medium length finish. A gorgeous nose, somewhat floral. The closure is one you don't see too often making the bottle perfect for using again. I use these for port from my barrel.
