If you like flying 747's then you need to read this book.
747: Creating the World's First Jumbo Jet and Other Adventures from a Life in Aviation (Hardcover)
by Joe Sutter

I read this recently. Very nice book by the guy who
designed and headed up the 747 team.
As he puts it very nicely, when they were designing
the 747 the next largest plane only seated about
150 people, had one aisle and sat four across, so
the 747 was revolutionary but the A380 is really just
incremental.
There are some nice insights, like how Pan-Am
really wanted a complete double decker plane
(like the A380) and how they designed the plane
to fly, but Prat-Whitney couldn't deliver the engines
to power it!
