Another erroneous article from News.com today, suggesting LH are flying the A380 to Australia, well they are, in the form of a SQ bird ex SIN.
TRAVELLERS are set for a touch of five-star luxury with Lufthansa announcing it will bring its luxurious A380 jet to Australia - but they will have to pay up for the privilege.
The airline will introduce the A380 on its services between Singapore and Frankfurt later this year, with the jet flying between Australia, Asia and Europe.
It will be the fourth airline to fly the A380 on the "Kangaroo route" between Sydney and London. Lufthansa currently uses older and smaller Boeing 747-400 planes on the route.
The new jet will make a flight to Europe more attractive, General Manager of Lufthansa German Airlines Australia, Kai Peters, said.
"Our Australian passengers can now for the first time fly all the way to Frankfurt on the world’s largest aircraft - combining the latest Lufthansa A380 with an A380 codeshare flight of our Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines," Peters said.
