I've decided I want to try to make my upcoming US trip in December into a DONE4 if possible and I need some advice urgently.

I'm aiming to leave on Nov 30 and fly the following legs: MEL-LAX-ORD-JFK-MIA, Drive to MCO-DFW-MTY-DFW-LHR-HKG-BNE or MEL.

Here are the questions:

I've costed this on the OW portal at around $12K, what is the cheapest way to book this fare.

Is there an advantage to use a TA, or should I try the AA RTW desk?

Is the AA RTW desk much cheaper?

I've tried to search the forums for this answer and I can't find anything recently.

Thanks in advance!

Ben

I would try pricing it out with using the AA flight number for the MEL-LAX sector

Using the QF flight number for MEL-LAX on the OW itinerary planner comes up with a base of $11,496 plus taxes and fines of around $1008 to $1176 depending on flights chosen ( BA fuel fines booked though Qantas are extra expensive )

Using the AA flight number for MEL-LAX drops taxes to $704 saving $304 to $472

Booking with the AA ATW desk would, I expect, come out the same $704 taxes
