New York Itinerary

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. What a great idea it is. I'm hoping that some of you more experienced members may be able to help me sort some flights to New York.

I live in Brisbane and my wife and I are wanting to go to New York in late April around the 21st but we're flexible.

We're both Bronze QFF members and we have a combined total of 462,036 FF points.

We're looking for the best options and would like to use as many of our points as possible so that we don't have to dig into our pockets too much.

We're happy to fly out of Sydney if we have to. My wife would like to visit Las Vegas while we're over there but it may be a better option to organise an internal flight for that.

I'd love to fly business class if possible but premium economy would be OK too.

Can anyone offer any advice?

You might be hard pressed to find flights using points this close, normally would book 10/12 months before departure, but they do come up from time to time.

Expert Flyer can advise you once certain fights are available.

Can always call QF and ask, if available there is a booking fee.

Yes, I did. Sorry to not have replied. Unfortunately our plans have been thrown into disarray of sorts.

It seems that I now have to go to the U.S. for business in May so we may piggyback our trip on to the end of that.

You'll get a wealth of knowledge around here. From me, personally, I've been to Vegas three times and to New York five times. In all, I've been to the States six or seven times.

And that mini bio will still pale in comparison to many others around her.

Will you be travelling on the company dime and, if so, do you have some choice as to the airline you fly? If you fly in Business the company may allow you to downgrade and her to upgrade and you'd meet in Premium Economy (whereby the save from the downgrade of your fare might be enough to pay for a second Premium Economy seat.
