new to qantas need help trying to contact them, its been impossible!

ok so i booked 6 months ago for my elderly parents from nz to melb. im a VA ff and have any issue sorted on the phone within ten minutes every time.
i've tried for days to contact qantas, 2 hour wait times no matter what time day or night.
for some reason tonight i got offered a callback thank god! only to have them call me back over two hours later to a dead line then hung up on, how in the heck do you even deal with this company it is bordering on the impossible.
i need to organise wheelchairs to and from the flight and seating as they need to be together as dad is mums career as she has early onset (which they are apparently trying to charge me for if i do it online?) frustrated beyond belief. can anyone assist? i managed to book wheelchair for one to the plane but what happens after? just need confirmation from someone everything will be sorted.
 
trying through fb...current wait time this morning 2.35 hours im kinda gobsmacked such a large airline has such a poor phone service.

this is why i dont fly with them (only booked mum and dad as they are familiar with the airline and prefered too), we flew china eastern a few months back trying to get the points was like getting blood out of a stone, i actually gave up. only chasing the points as hubby flys qantas for work. im VA all the way, customer service has been exceptional, and mum and ad will be flying home virgin.
 
Do the wheelchair request online as well as your seats. They will charge over the phone too for seating. Otherwise wait until online check-in opens up. You shouldn't be split up if you don't choose your own seats.

Adding a WCHR to the booking doesn't give you free seat selection.

Agreee. You can put in the wheelchair request and seat selection online (you may need to pay for seats depending on fare paid) but you can absolutely put the wheelchair request into the booking online - no need to call.

ive managed to deal with it all through facebook af all places but we now have it sorted and seats booked at no cost. am glad it is now sorted but that took way too much time and stress lol.

Did you even try to do it online. Either at the booking stage, or by managing the booking ? You may have saved yourself a lot of aggrevation.

QF's online systems leave MUCh to be desired, but seats and special assistance requests are pretty standard.
 
I've got the same issue, wait times over 2 hours, and I requested a callback but it's 2 hours past its promised time.

I need to book an award that can't be booked online (ex-CMB).

I'm Gold with QF, what is going on???
